Picobello G61650 Tile Repair Set (Small) White and Grey

Arrived today to fix a big chunk out of a ceramic, slate effect tile in kitchen. Yes the instructions are in German but there are multiple YouTube videos in English. Tile damage was triangular and about an inch across on the edge of the tile and I must say after 15 minutes the difference is amazing and easy to do even mixing the colours to get the right effect. Just need to bleach the grouting now as hadn’t realised how dirty it was 😂

Very expensive (but still cheaper than replacing tile). Easy to use when you work it out and does what it is supposed to. Cannot see that the tile has been repaired. Instructions are in German with no English translation so had to use Google translate, which was annoying. There a you tube videos but these are for different versions of the kit. Translation is: 1 Preparing­ The damaged parts to­ be repaired must be ­clean, dry and free o­f grease. Remove loos­e, protruding parts b­efore repair. 2 Melt ­ Activate the melter.­ Hold the hot melt ti­p to a suitable Keram­i fillet rod and melt­ some filler. You can­ also mix color shade­s with each other. 3. Introduce­ Insert the molten fi­ller into the damaged­ area, always overfil­l. Clean the tip of t­he melter after each ­melting. Caution: ris­k of burning. 4. Removal ­ After cooling the fi­ller, remove the supe­rnatants using the pl­aner grooves of the s­melter. 5. Color adjustment ­ Color adjustment You ­can adjust the color ­at any time. Simply m­elt some material fro­m one or two Kerami-F­ill rods and mix with­ the filling in the p­lace of the damage. 6. Removal ­ After filling, re-pl­an with the sup- port­s. Use the mini-plane­r to smooth the damag­ed area. CAUTION: Do ­not scratch with tip. 6. Degreasing ­ Finally, remove the ­crimping point with t­he abrasive fleece. Notes on the melter ­ For the operation of ­the melter. Zers you ­need three 15w size A­A batteries. Insert t­he batteries as shown­ in the picture. Befo­re using the grinder,­ remove the protectiv­e cap and turn the wh­ite slider to "ON." T­o heat the melter, pr­ess and hold the whit­e knob for about 10-1­5 seconds, the red li­ght indicates that th­e melter is heating u­p If the wax melts, r­elease the button, th­e tip cools slowly, y­ou can increase the t­emperature by pressin­g the "ON" button at ­any time, and do not ­forget to re-install ­the cap . Great - easy to use and gives a great finish - I had a hole from where I dropped a ceramic bowl on the floor and this worked wonders - you can't see the hole anymore and the finish is great - just take your time and follow the instructions that it comes with (in English!)

I really wanted this to work. Unless you have tiles that exactly match the colours in the pack, it's not easy to mix it up and fill cracks. You need several goes. Furthermore, most disappointingly as other reviewers have noted, it doesn't work at all on hairline cracks.

The moment I mopped the floor and hoovered it, this all came off. Looked great to start off with but in certain lights it did appear like candle wax on the floor.

After much hesitation and watching many Utube videos after purchasing I decided to try and repair a surface chip. Quite shallow about 8mm across with a ragged edge. Very obvious as it was a slate grey finish with the off white tile base showing through. From the videos watched I decided to drill with a tile drill in the center in the chip to give a deeper hole to fill instead of shallow flaky edges. Drilled until I had a uniform round hole, cleaned with an alcohol wipe and when dry followed the kit instructions. Much easier than I anticipated and only really visible because I know where to look. Can of spray laquer sprayed into the lid and carefully applied with a artist paint brush to finish. Much easier and cheaper than trying to source and fit a matching replacement tile.

The product is user friendly, and adhere well but the colour when in use is not true to its block colour when it dries up. Its more greyish in tone when mixed. So finishing did not blend well on my off white tile.

For holes this is perfect I’d it’s a crack in the tile then you need to build it up slowly and be patient to try and get a match ... it’s never going to be perfect but I managed to get it to a point I was happy

Il y avait de gros éclats sur le carrelage gris. J'ai acheté ce produit sans trop y croire et j'ai été surprise. Les éclats ne se voient que si on est dans un angle précis avec la lumière (brillance différente). Personne n'avait vu les raccords avant que je leur dise. Facile à appliquer. Perso j'ai fait des mélanges pour avoir la même teinte que mon carrelage. Il faut être patient et observateur.

Ich habe mir das Picobello Reparatur-Set zugelegt, da ich einige unschöne Bohrlöcher und kleinere Abplatzungen an meinen Wand- und Bodenfliesen im Bad hatte. Die Anwendung ist einfach: Farbe wählen, mit dem Schmelzgerät auftragen, glätten – fertig! Auch ohne handwerkliche Erfahrung lässt sich das Set gut bedienen. Reparaturqualität: Die fertige Reparatur ist sehr stabil und hält auch auf stärker beanspruchten Fliesen. Ich habe das Set im Badboden genutzt, wo regelmäßig Feuchtigkeit und Belastung auftreten – bis heute keine Probleme! Die Kerami-Fill-Masse lässt sich gut anpassen, aushärten und sorgt für einen nahezu unsichtbaren Übergang, wenn man die passende Farbe wählt. Design & Farbauswahl: Die Farben Weiß und Grau passen hervorragend zu den gängigen Fliesentönen. Es gibt auch Sets mit anderen Farbkombinationen wie Terracotta – je nachdem, was zum eigenen Fliesenstil passt. Man kann die Stangen auch mischen, um die Farbe noch besser anzugleichen. Praktisch & durchdacht: Der batteriebetriebene Schmelzer ist super handlich und sofort einsatzbereit, keine Kabel, kein Aufheizen nötig. Besonders angenehm: Die Batterien sind bereits enthalten, was man bei vielen anderen Sets nicht erwarten kann. Fazit: Ein rundum gelungenes Reparaturset für alle, die kleinere Fliesenschäden schnell, einfach und kostengünstig selbst beheben möchten. Me estaba planteando cambiar las baldosas de casa ya que eran bastantes los pequeños desconchados que algunas tenían, pero tras probar este producto ahora ni me lo planteo, es resultado es simplemente espectacular. Como todo al principio hay que cogerle el truquillo, pero una vez has aplicado el producto un par de veces y ya te haces con el tono de color, el proceso se hace sencillo y aunque algunas veces el resultado no se vea bien a la primera después de lijar, siempre puedes volver aplicar masilla hasta obtener el tono y resultado deseado. Las fotos están hechas con bastante luz y aún así uno se tiene que acercar bastante para ver donde se ha aplicado porque estando de pie es prácticamente imposible verlo. Producto muy recomendable.
