Well-made and surprisingly small. Easy to fit and unobtrusive. Unusually, it comes complete with a polarising filter to remove any screen reflections (just twist the filter once fitted until they disappear). Very reasonably priced for a 4k camera with the latest Sony Starvis 2 sensor which produces good, clear video day and night. A one-star review here claims that you can’t power it from a USB C socket but that hasn’t been my experience - it works perfectly for me. The screen is small but usable although it’s easier to set it up initially through the phone app. The only minor issue that I had with it was that if you use the GPS time signal for the internal clock, the daylight saving setting uses the US dates to automatically change in the spring and autumn which are different from the dates we use in the UK. That said, it’s easy enough to set the time manually so not so much a problem as an inconvenience. It does run very warm but no more than my previous dash-cam which lasted several years with any problems.

Im a proffesional drivers who uses daschams to record every minute of my driving so im quite familiar with how unreliable dashcams can be. Ive tried many of the Chinese brands, and Nextbase cameras. No matter the price, the functionality of the Apps are ALWAYS absolutely diabolical and theyve nearly always been very unreliable.Vantrue and Viofo are probably the only well known camera brands I haven't tried. And considering I can't swap Viofos between vehicles due to no suction mounts being available, I thought I'd ditch my Nextbase and give this Vantrue a go!First things first, the aesthetic quality is outstanding, the attention to detail in the design of the box and the camera itself is superb. It really feels like youre opening a high end product.The camera functionality is superb, the menus easy to navigate, and all settings can be adjusted from the App if you'd prefer.The app, unlike most actually functions, most are horrific, always crashing or refusing to function. My nextbase app is basically unusable. This connects quickly, downloads fast and has never crashed on me yet.The camera video quality is 4k, and obviously fantastic as a result, the Plate pix function does work at making number plates slightly more readable by removing the glare, but it does darken the overall video quite considerably. I would prefer a 60fps function as 30fps always struggles to capture numberplates that are moving.It has a super wide angle lense, which is obviously a good thing, however its so wide it makes positioning the camera awkward as it always captures a portion of the unswept area of windscreen which makes the corner of the video appear dirty. But moving it further away from that area means the right hand corner of the video captures the plastic cover for all of the sensors behind the rear view mirror. Annoying for me, but wont affect everyone.Haven't had any issues with overheating, but we shall see what happens in the summer. 4k cameras always get a little warm. Small ones like this always struggles the most.Overall, a good camera so far.**edit**After about 1 months use i found this to be totally useless at capturing registration plates in anything but bright sun. It performs worse than a 6 year old 1080p 60fps dascham. Night performance is beyond disappointing

Video quality on this dashcan was superb but I had to return it as it kept overheating and switching itself off. I think the small size is amazing but it also doesn't allow much room for the heat to dissipate. Have the S1 Pro now and its brilliant.

A superb dashcam. Compact, easy to fit and amazing picture quality by day and night. Fully featured, the app is intuitive and easy to use. GPS is very accurate and using the app, your video file runs concurrently with the movement of your vehicle on the map. It is a cracking bit of kit and I have bought another for the rear of my car to avoid any wires affecting the many airbags in the roof and the sides. Highly recommended.

Disappointed, costumer service not helping at all, dashcam heats up when it’s on, to the point you can’t tuch it, and it’s not coz of windshield , it happens even in the house. It takes about 3-5 minutes to heat up till point I can’t tuch it, about 70ish degrees Celsius.And connecting to your phone will cut out most times, and there is no shortcut button to save video but you can save picture, useless. Voice control for it doesn’t work, more like random times saves video coz you sead something, not related to saving video.My biggest problem is heat and I can’t tuch it .

I have had this in the car now for a few weeks. Its quite neat in size compared to some others, an alternative I had ordered was returned as it wouldn't fit discreetly were as this does. Overall the fitting was straightforward, I use an ODB power supply cable which can keep the camera running for parking mode without allowing the battery to run down and not allow the car to start. Quality wise, in daylight and well lit streets it fine, images are clear and registration plates, road signs etc. are clearly visible so there would be no issues in having to use the footage in an insurance claim or similar. Download speed over the Wi-Fi is as expected, its not the fastest however is useable for transferring clips to a mobile device to watch.

If you need to see the number plate of the offending car you need a good pc or tablet to do this. Does not like old teck.The focus is not great but it was possible to see and incident and details required. It gets very hot when first plugged in I assume it was due to charging the capcitors. I wanted to ask questions to customer support and nearly did a return becuase I could not get the funtion I required. I don;t want to give permission for all my photes on my device to allow the app to work so used an SD card to usb c reader. Does what I need it to do but feel the image could be better.

To start with the packaging is very nice .In the box are clips and trim took for tucking the wires out of site. The app was very easy to set up I connected the dashcam to a battery pack to set it all up rather than in the car.For the money it seems to be good value 4k and polarising lens included for £110 .It is nice and small and has a nice quality weight to it. I have found it a breeze to use and set up.

I’ve been using this Vantrue E1 Pro for my daily driving and I’m very happy with it. The video quality is excellent, especially during both daytime and nighttime. The compact size fits perfectly behind my rearview mirror and doesn’t block my view at all. Installation was simple, and the WiFi connection makes it easy to download and review footage on my phone. The HDR feature helps capture clear details, including license plates. Overall, this dash cam offers great performance, reliability, and value for the price. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality dash cam.

I came from the E1 Lite and went from being unable to read a licence plate of a stationary car as I drove past to being able to read anyone's on the road. Almost the same product except higher quality camera and features. Physically identical, very compact.

Buscaba una Dashcam para mis rutas por el asfalto empecé a mirar precios y calidades y afortunadamente di con un vídeo en YouTube que explicaba todas sus características y funcionalidades. Me decanté a un sin conocer esta marca y he de decir que, aunque llevo pocos días con ella, estoy súper contento con la compra. Calidad excepcional a un precio bastante moderado. En comparación con otras marcas. Pequeña compacta y a todo el que esté pensando en comprarse una cámara de este estilo se la recomiendo porque no se va arrepentir.

Good for Alaska or north-pole expedition !!!Loved the product compact size, the functions and options .. BUT .. It overheats within about few minutes, even when used in the car with air-conditioning running at maximum cooling.. even tried windshield air-went at full (it’s currently winter in Saudi), well...I also tested it indoors in my home with the air-conditioner blowing directly onto the camera.... but it still became extremely hot.NOT recommended

Ich bin absolut begeistert von der Vantrue E1 Pro 4K. Nachdem ich meine erste Kamera testweise zurückgeschickt hatte, weil mir das Hardwire-Kit fehlte, habe ich das gleiche Modell erneut bestellt – und das Ergebnis ist ein absoluter Hauptgewinn!​🚗 Die "Zwei-Autos-Lösung"​Zu meiner Überraschung kamen zwei Pakete an (Kamera und Hardware-Kit separat), aber in der Kamera-Verpackung lag glücklicherweise trotzdem wieder ein Standard-Ladekabel für den Zigarettenanzünder bei. Das war mein Glück: Jetzt kann ich dieselbe Kamera flexibel zwischen meinem Kastenwagen (Citroën Jumper Pössl, Baujahr 2019) und meinem kleinen Stadtauto (Toyota Yaris) wechseln. Im Pössl ist sie fest per Hardwire-Kit (Dauerstrom) verbaut, im Yaris nutze ich das einfache Kabel. Ich besorge mir lediglich noch eine zweite Halterung, und das System ist perfekt.​🛠️ Der Kastenwagen-Durchbruch: Montage & Kabelführung (Jumper/Ducato)​Wer einen Kastenwagen mit Remis-Frontverdunkelung fährt, kennt das Problem: Wohin mit der Kamera, ohne dass sie das Rollo blockiert? Nach langem Suchen habe ich die für mich perfekte Lösung gefunden.​Der Montageort & die "Kröte", die man schlucken muss:Ich habe die Dashcam mittig im ganz unteren Bereich der Windschutzscheibe aufgeklebt.• ​Der Vorteil: Absolut sicherer Halt direkt auf der Scheibe (kein Vibrieren an wackeligen Plastikteilen) und perfekte Sicht nach vorne. Auf Reisen, beim Zwischenstopp auf dem Baumarkt-Parkplatz oder beim Lebensmitteleinkauf bleibt die Kamera aktiv und schützt das Auto.• ​Der Kompromiss: Wenn ich abends die Remis-Verdunkelung zuziehe, muss ich die Kamera vom Steckschuh abziehen, da die Remis-Stange sonst blockiert. Nachts im geschlossenen Zustand läuft sie also nicht – aber das ist für mich völlig in Ordnung, die Sicherheit auf der Straße und beim Einkaufen ist mir wichtiger.​Der geniale Kabel-Weg (Anleitung zum Nachbauen):Das Verlegen des USB-C-Kabels vom Sicherungskasten nach oben klingt schwerer als es ist, wenn man folgenden Trick nutzt:1. ​Der Start: Vom Sicherungskasten (unten links) geht es mit dem Kabel zuerst an den Pedalen vorbei.2. ​Der Radioschacht-Trick: Baut das Radio (in meinem Fall das mit der Rückfahrkamera) kurz komplett aus. Jetzt nehmt ihr einen langen, starren Draht, klebt das USB-C-Ende des Stromkabels mit Paketband daran fest und schiebt den Draht von unten hoch in den leeren Radioschacht. So lässt sich das Kabel butterweich und ohne Fummelei hochziehen.3. ​Das Klemmbrett nutzen: Der Jumper hat oben auf dem Armaturenbrett diesen typischen Handwerker-Klemmhalter für Lieferscheine und Notizen. Vom offenen Radioschacht aus kommt man perfekt unter dieses Klemmbrett.4. ​Das Finale: Hebelt das Armaturenbrett an einer kleinen Kante nahe des Klemmbretts mit passendem Werkzeug ganz leicht an. Dort könnt ihr das USB-C-Kabel sauber herauskommen lassen. Von dort sind es nur noch wenige Zentimeter bis zur Kamera an der Unterkante der Scheibe. Sieht absolut profihaft aus!​⚡ Absicherung im Sicherungskasten​Der Anschluss des Hardwire-Kits war danach ein Kinderspiel. Ich habe die Stromhilfekabel einfach an zwei vorhandene Steckplätze im Sicherungskasten dazugesteckt:• ​Sicherung F36 (10 Ampere – rot): Zuständig für Radio/Zentralverriegelung. Liefert Dauerstrom für die Parküberwachung.• ​Sicherung F43 (20 Ampere – gelb): Schützt den Frontscheibenwischer (Zündungsplus). Ideal für den Start der Kamera bei Fahrtbeginn.• ​Sicherheit: Die originalen Sicherungen stecken weiterhin ordnungsgemäß im Adapter, die Sicherheitsaspekte des Fahrzeugs bleiben also voll erhalten.​💾 Wichtiger Tipp zur Speicherkarte: Warum "High Endurance" lebenswichtig ist!​Bitte spart hier auf gar keinen Fall am falschen Ende! Viele Käufer nehmen irgendeine SD-Karte, die noch in der Schublade liegt – das ist der häufigste Grund, warum Dashcams mittendrin die Aufnahme stoppen oder Fehler melden.​Eine Dashcam schreibt im Loop-Modus (das heißt, sie überschreibt ständig die ältesten Daten) 24/7. Bei einer 4K-Kamera wie der Vantrue E1 Pro kommen zudem enorme Datenmengen zusammen. Eine normale Speicherkarte (die für Fotos oder Handys gemacht ist) gibt hier nach wenigen Monaten den Geist auf.​Worauf man beim Kauf zwingend achten muss:• ​Der "Endurance"-Faktor: Wählt unbedingt Karten mit dem Label „High Endurance“ oder „Max Endurance“. Diese Karten sind speziell für das ständige Überschreiben (Rewriting) optimiert und halten um ein Vielfaches länger als Standard-Karten.• ​Die Video-Geschwindigkeitsklasse (V30/U3): Damit die 4K-Daten sauber geschrieben werden können, ohne dass das Bild ruckelt oder Lücken entstehen, muss die Karte mindestens den V30-Standard (Video Speed Class 30) oder U3 unterstützen. Das garantiert die nötige Schreibgeschwindigkeit.• ​Hitzebeständigkeit: Hinter der Windschutzscheibe entstehen im Sommer Temperaturen von bis zu 85 °C. Billige Karten "schmelzen" hier innerlich oder korrumpieren die Daten. Markenkarten (wie z.B. SanDisk High Endurance oder Samsung Pro Endurance) sind für diese extremen Temperaturschwankungen ausgelegt.• ​Die Kapazität: Ich empfehle 128 GB. Damit habt ihr bei 4K-Auflösung einen langen Aufnahme-Loop, bevor die Kamera anfängt, die erste Aufnahme wieder zu überschreiben.​📱 App-Bedienung (Positiv überrascht!)​Für mich ist die Smartphone-App unverzichtbar, um nicht an den winzigen Tasten herumzuspielen. Die Verbindung mit meinem Samsung Galaxy S24+ klappt einwandfrei: Während das Handy per WLAN mit der Kamera verbunden ist, greift es im Hintergrund für das Internet weiter auf das mobile Netz (Vodafone) zu. So kann ich Beweise im Ernstfall sofort kabellos auf dem großen Handydisplay vorzeigen.​📝 Fazit​Die Vantrue E1 Pro ist handlich, liefert ein fantastisches 4K-Bild und ist dank der magnetischen Halterung extrem komfortabel im Alltag. Wer sie fest installiert (mit Dauerstrom) oder flexibel in mehreren Autos nutzen möchte, findet hier eine absolute Top-Lösung. Mit ein bisschen handwerklichem Geschick und meinem "Radioschacht-Klemmbrett-Trick" ist sie auch im Kastenwagen ein absoluter Traum. Ich bin rundum glücklich!
