HTH 52012 Ultimate Shock Treatment Swimming Pool Cleaner, Single

I have a ~10,000 gallon above-ground pool that had a fair amount of green algae coming out of the winter off-season (stuck to the floor and walls all over the pool, and murky water). I knew I needed to super-chlorinate, so I used the entire package. I ran the filter for the next two days, back-washing once, and the pool was crystal blue. Hard to argue with that - just know that this is unstabilized, so make sure that is what you are looking for!

This product does not dissolve in the pool as the directions suggest. I followed the directions and used the broadcast method in my 35,000 gallon pool. The next day (and following days) I noticed the blue residue in the bottom of my pool. I brushed the pool to disperse the crystals, but they still did not dissolve. I finally had to use my Polaris to vacuum the residue. Next I will try to dissolve this product in a 5 gallon bucket before adding to my pool. One packet of this product is for 11,000 gallons, I did not see this information in the product description.

Definitely works as advertised and better than any other brand! Do yourself a favor though and price check - I paid $53 for a 6 pack then saw individual bags were $5.99 each. Canceled the original order and ordered 6 bags. Saved about $18.

Didn’t clear the pool, wasn’t as effective as what my pool store around the corner is offering! So after dumping all the bags in, more needed to be purchased! I guess being cheap didn’t work for me!

We always use this brand, and we have never had any problems.
