Can it be a retrofit for an existing fan?

I don’t think so. Unless the existing box is the same size. Needs to be new work install or complete remodel

Can the night light be turned off?

WHEN you install it you have to have the fan and the light wired together and that lets both came on and go off at the same time ,, other then that you will have to have both wired to a single switch so you can turn ether or on as you want ,, hope that helped ???

Can this unit installed after sheet rock is installed?

I sure hope so. That is our situation but haven’t had time to install yet. When I read the description, it certainly sounded like you can. I can answer again after we install.
