Pricey but works and safe
I was looking for a replacement for my boiled steam humidifier and seemed like they're all "mist" (piezo), now. This won't work because our water is moderately hard and that could clog. Of the two better boiled steam models currently on the U.S. market, neither had a fan, one had reports of poor low water sensing and scorching, and the other had no power setting. I am running an electric radiator and need to share a 20 amp (16 amp really) circuit. So, I came across the Canopy 5.5 liter. This places it at the higher capacity nearing 1.5 gallons, which is a plus. It's an incredibly simple design. The water tank is removed and filled at the tub or a deep sink, the cap is placed on and the tank inverted, plugging into a moat in the base, maintaining fill. On the other side, in a circle within the moat, a cylindrical evaporative wick is submerged about 3/4". The wick draws up water. Inlet vents on the perimeter of the base surround the wick on the outside. A shell containing all the electronics forms the other half of the unit, complementing the tank. A fan mounted on the shell and centered at the top of the wick draws moist air through and blows it out the top. There are 3 fan speeds, including an "auto" mode which runs in medium while the room light is on and going to low when the room light is sensed to be off. Read the legend carefully before tossing, because the symbols are not self-explanatory. They really should have printed the legend on a sticker. The fan is powered by USB-C with a USB-A adapter cord and a cheaper USB-A power supply is included. When plugged into a power bank, I measure only 5 watts on high. Whomever wrote the review about the plug overheating got a bad adapter. They are super cheapo and obviously outsourced. There are also two aromatherapy delivery methods. One is a well which sits in the center of the airflow at the bottom. The other is a small absorbent stone which may be placed above the fan. "Unwind" scent is included and is delightful. Almost smells like a spa. The pricepoint is a bit high. But, I get the sense this is a startup. The branding is pleasant, and actually, I do enjoy the luxe experience of the "Unwind" aromatherapy oil, and honestly, I can afford to waste a bit of money on something a little overpriced as long as it just works. But it does work and looks nice. Just keep in mind that this is a glorified engine air filter and a large computer fan. It may not be worth the money, but it works well and looks nice. As far as the evaporative cooling effect in winter, I think it's just cycling the existing radiator longer, which is fine. The air is humid and warm and not noticeably cool unless you're feeling right above the fan vent. It also helps to start it off with warm water. I thoroughly rinsed the wick in hot water prior to installing. As for mold, just keep an eye on it. There is a pair of electrodes which dip in the moat to sense low water level. The electronics do not give a timer option, so, unattended, it will just go dry, preventing mold.

OBSESSED
I’m in love with this humidifier! I wasn’t sure if it’d be worth the price tag, but I absolutely adore all the features it comes with. For one, the size is compact. I know other reviewers mentioned the size being small, but it still looked big to me on photos. I was pleasantly surprised when it came in to see how compact it actually was. It fits perfectly on my night stand (which is on the smaller side). I got the color moonstuck, which is a pretty gray hue that looks like it can have a slight green tint to it. Love the aesthetic. It has plenty of features, such as having options for a night light (yellow or red light— both dimmable), and a white noise machine (3 different levels for volume). I love its anti-mold features, and helps me feel at ease using it. It’s also dishwasher safe and has the ability to use essential oils if you purchase a separate aroma stone or aroma well (which goes inside the tank). I wish you could purchase the additional accessories on Amazon, but I think it’s via their website only. One of my favorite features is the ability to use tap water. Makes it sooo much easier to use. The water tank is also more than enough to keep it running all night and into the next day, so I don’t need to fill it up as much. One benefit I noticed is sleeping better. I have a chronically stuffy nose and this helped my breathing at night. Some cons: The fan is pretty loud on the highest speed. It reminds me of a white noise machine so it may not bother someone else, but I wasn’t too big of a fan. It’s extremely quiet on the lowest setting though! Another potential con is the water gurgling from time to time when the tank gets emptier. It’s not too bothersome but something to note. Last, it’s cheaper to purchase on their website! Plus you get more options for color choices too. Wish I knew that, but it’s okay. Overall a wonderful humidifier! Definitely plan to use it nightly. 😴

Ineffective, Nonfunctional, Overpriced
Do not recommend this humidifier at all, was very disappointed. Tested this in two different small bedrooms, less than half the rated cubic feet listed. We measured the humidity before and after overnight with a hygrometer and it would go up by 1% at most (from like 39% before, to 40% after - not anywhere close to the higher limit where reduced performance could be expected). There was of course no perceivable difference in the room. The air over the fan is apparently humid (60-70%), it’s just totally ineffective at dispersing or maintaining a sufficient output in even a small room. We checked the filter placement and configuration to see if it would help to no avail. Overpriced “evaporative technology” not worth it - buy something else and save yourself the headache.

Best feature: Easy to Clean + Tap Water Friendly!!
Loving the new 2.0 version of the Canopy humidifier. I’ve struggled with humidifiers in the past—moldy, impossible to clean, and just more hassle than they’re worth. Well, this one has totally changed the game for me. One of the standout features is how simple it is to clean. Love that you can just throw it in the dishwasher and the ability to remove the grill and access the fan for cleaning is a major upgrade, eliminating concerns about hidden mold or buildup. Additionally, it works with regular tap water, making it much more convenient than other humidifiers that require distilled water. Another great addition is the white noise feature. It eliminated the need to buy these items separately saving money! The only downside is the cost of the replacement filters, which can add up over time. However, given how easy it is to maintain and the overall quality of the product, this is a small trade-off for a humidifier that truly delivers on performance and cleanliness.

Needed a non mold humidifier since the other brands milder so easily and this is it! Had it for 2 years now and ordered another one for my room.
