The Ultimate All-in-One Writing Tool โ Smooth, Reliable, and Built to Last!
The Pilot Dr. Grip 4+1 Multi Pen is hands-down one of the best writing instruments Iโve ever used. It perfectly combines practicality, comfort, and quality in one sleek design. The four ballpoint ink colors (black, blue, red, and green) glide smoothly with no skipping or blotting, and the built-in 0.5 mm mechanical pencil is a brilliant touch for quick notes or precision work. Switching between colors and pencil mode is effortless โ just a click and youโre ready to go. The Dr. Grip barrel truly lives up to its reputation for comfort. It has a well-balanced, slightly weighted feel that reduces hand fatigue during long writing or note-taking sessions. The black body gives it a professional, understated look that fits right in at the office or in a classroom. I also love how refillable and sustainable it is โ you can replace each ink cartridge and even the pencil lead, making it a long-term investment rather than a disposable pen. If youโre someone who writes often and values convenience without compromising on performance, the Pilot Dr. Grip 4+1 is worth every penny.

Almost perfect, just needs better eraser.
I have grip issues due to breaking multiple fingers over the years, so I like to write with a pencil to be able to fix mistakes. I also need to mark up blueprints with notes for my job, so having a big fat writing instrument that can switch between pencil or multiple colors of pen is perfect for me. I've tried the cheap knockoffs of these & there's no comparison at all. These are heavier, sturdier & just work better. I wish they put a better eraser on these. There's definitely room. The stupid little eraser under the cap should just be changed to an eraser the size of the cap. Other than that, these are the perfect pens for me. I've bought more than one & will replace them with this exact same one if I need to.

Solid All-in-One Pen That Gets the Job Done Without the Fuss
I picked up this Pilot Dr. Grip 4+1 multi pen because I travel a fair bit for work and wanted something that could handle note-taking, quick sketches, and random lists without me digging through my bag for separate pens and a pencil. Back when I lived in Florida and now in Delaware, plus all the airport scribbles and hotel room planning, I figured one tool that switches colors easily would cut down on clutter. The black body looked clean and professional enough for meetings, so I went for it. I expected a comfortable grip that wouldn't cramp my hand during longer sessions and smooth writing that wouldn't skip or smear too much. Overall, it pretty much met those expectations, though not perfectly. The grip is the star here. It's that soft rubbery cushion with a wider barrel, and it really does help when you're writing for a while. I used it on a recent business trip to jot down meeting notes for hours, and my hand felt less tired than with regular slim pens. The 0.7mm ballpoints in black, blue, red, and green flow decently smoothโkind of low-viscosity so they don't drag much. Color coding my notes (red for action items, blue for follow-ups, green for ideas) makes reviewing stuff later way easier. The 0.5mm mechanical pencil is handy too; I click it out for quick underlines or when I need something erasable on forms or sketches. In real life, this thing shines for practical stuff. At conferences or while traveling, I can switch colors mid-sentence without grabbing another pen. The pencil came in clutch for marking up printed itineraries or doing rough calculations on the fly. The clip feels sturdy and holds onto notebook covers or shirt pockets fine without bending. Refills are available, which is a plus since the original inks do run out eventually. On the downside, one of the mechanisms can feel a bit sticky sometimesโyou have to push harder to extend or retract a color, and occasionally it doesn't snap back cleanly unless you fiddle with it. The tiny eraser under the cap works for small mistakes but is pretty useless for anything bigger, so I still carry a separate eraser. Ink can get a little gloppy toward the end of a refill, and the whole pen is on the chunkier side, which might not suit everyone who prefers super slim writers. It also picks up a bit of lint on the grip over time, nothing major but noticeable. Value for money? It's not the cheapest multi-pen out there, but at what I paid, it feels reasonable for the comfort and convenience. You get four decent colors plus the pencil in one body that lasts, and compatible refills keep it going without buying a whole new pen. If you're someone who hates carrying five things, it saves space in a travel bag or desk drawer. I wouldn't call it life-changing, but it does what it promises without major headaches. All in all, this Dr. Grip 4+1 is a reliable everyday carry for folks who need versatility without sacrificing hand comfort. It handled my mix of work notes, travel lists, and casual doodling pretty well and mostly lived up to what I hoped for. If you're on the fence about a multi-tool like this, it's worth considering for the grip alone.

BEST PEN EVER. PERIOD!
I was looking for a pen that had enough colors to prove useful at my engineering job. I currently work in Aerospace across various projects, which often involves me having to write down various multi-faceted notes. I had fallen in love with the Pilot G2 0.7, 0.5, and 0.3mm pens, and I used them extensively during my years in college as they are amazing for note taking, sketching, etc. When I first got them, I was surprised just how smooth, reliable, and easy they were to use, and I immediately bought as big of a box as I could for each of those sizes. After trying this pen, I feel like I cannot to back to any other form of writing ever again. The action of this pen is incredibly flawless and smooth. Literally, my first reaction to trying out this pen was "WOW oh my god!!!". The best part is, while all 4 colored ink pens are incredibly smooth-feeling, the lead pencil is also, somehow, just as (if not even more) smooth as the rest! I have never had a mechanical pencil write as if it were a high-tolerance ballpoint... Just wow! An amazing pen and definitely a MUST HAVE!

Big Pen!
Big, knobby pen that lets people know you mean business. Good ink flow and the pencil option is a neat little Easter egg. I will say the color switches are a little pesky but itโs easy enough to handle.

Love this pen!
I love this multipen! Probably the best out there! Itโs thick and but pretty comfortable.

Feels great a bit heavy. However pen is too thick. And when writing, it does cut off and on. Its not consistent.

The pens writes beautifully but it broke within a month for me. the clip that activates the pencil mechanism is the weak point.

An excellent pen, if you only want to carry one pen this will do it all. I like the pencil and rubber for crosswords and the Pilot ballpoints rank with the best writing first time with no smudges

There's not much to say: the gels write precisely and smooth as butter in vibrant colors. It writes better than any other gel pen or ballpoint I tried, other than more expensive Pilot gel pens. The mechanical pencil is... a mechanical pencil. The grip is very comfortable, though people with small hands may find it too thick. I've read reports of the clip breaking off, but I've been carrying one of these at the bottom of a bag for about a year without the slightest problem. The only reason I bought others is to have different body colors and to have spares lying around in case I forget to carry one. It says it all: people I lend it to usually end up buying one of their own.
