tablet power adapter.
This power adapter is for my Apple iPad, and it works well when I'm out and about. It charges any device well.

Basic Brand. Best Buy.
Charges in a timely fashion. With a cord of a sufficient length for anyone who would have it near them while charging. Works well with pretty much any Android device too. Very easy to use and reuse so no worries.

Almost identical to Apple’s (I hope)
I bought this for my iPhone and iPad because my iPad charger/adapter was seemingly having a hard time making a good connection to lightning cables (I later found the cables were the problem). I looked at the specs at Apple.com and saw that the Apple charger that came with my iPad was also approved for my iPhone which was good news as it is more powerful than the one which came with the phone. Apple’s online specification for this, their most universal charger/adapter, is 12 watts. Amazon’s charger/adapter is a match, so I got it. In comparing what’s written on the actual chargers, Apple _ : output: 12 watts, 5 2 volts, 2.4 amps | input: 0.5 amps (50/60Hz) Amazon: output: (no watts), 5 volts, 2.4 amps | input: 0.3 amps (50/60Hz) But they are not quite the same. Amazon says 12 watts online but the charger doesn’t state watts directly. However, by virtue of 5 volts and 2.4 amps, it is 12 watts. Apple does have 12 watts written on the (2012 copyright) charger but it gives an inconsistent 5 2v volts and 2.4 amps. The 5 2v is obviously a typo and should be 5v, but Apple chose to beautify (?) their chargers by fading the descriptive text to where it’s so faint, it is a major project to read it - a nearly impossible task. What’s interesting could be the difference in input: Apple’s .5 amps versus Amazon’s .3 amps. Does this mean that the Amazon charger is less sensitive to the state of the device being charged? I don’t know. Could overcharging occur because of this? Can an electrical engineer help out and post a comment below this review? About the small micro-dot light that comes on when the Amazon charger is plugged in - it is not bothersome to me. I paid $7.73 for the basic Amazon charger and if it’s close enough to Apple’s, that’s a very good price. I will update the review if it ever fails. Edit new note: On Apple.com, in one of the first comments on their 12 watt charger/adapter description page, someone says an Apple genius told her that using her 12 watt iPad charger on her iPhone 6s ruined its battery. Hmmmm. Bad genius or not? Also, I read at a serious tech site that charging a phone battery where 1a or 5w is the normal charge, charging the battery regularly at a higher rate could stress the mechanism that regulates the charge and result in a shorter battery life. So I will only use the 12 watt charger on the phone for the times when I really need to.

Perfect for my needs (power an LED sign)
Bought an LED sign on Amazon and of course none of them comes with a power adapter. Tried using an iPhone power adapter (the little brick) and it got very warm, which indicated the power adapter wasn't providing enough power so it was working too hard to power the sign. Found this adapter, which is about 2x as powerful. It works well with the LED sign and doesn't get warm. Thanks.

Solid Charger
As a standalone charger, this one does pretty good and I like the versatility to charge other items with the USB female plug vs. something hardwired that allows me to charge other USB-type devices in addition to something that uses a micro USB port. Charging time is significantly faster for a Fire tablet vs. using my regular USB charger, but since I haven't - and rarely - fully drain one of my Fires I cannot comment on the "faster" aspect for charging a Fire: I just know it works, and it does seem to charge my phone faster than the plug that came from Verizon. That’s not a shocker as this one is 12 watts vs. 5 for the “normal” charger. This is a replacement model to the original 9W PowerFast charger. Rather than the prior model’s square look this one is longer in a rectangular form and sticks out further from the socket. That seems to add more clutter to a wall socket. This year’s model also the fold-down version of the prongs that gives it a lower profile and is much better for carrying in your laptop bag as it doesn’t get caught up in other cords and easily fits into one of the side pockets in my laptop bag. Amazon has reduced the pricing to a third of what they used to charge for the PowerFast adapters, and they do appear to be built to last: I’ve never had one of the Amazon-branded chargers break as other brands do, I just keep leaving them in random hotels and airports while traveling and have to buy another! If you are looking for a solid and longer-lasting charger for your tablet, I would recommend this one.

If you're looking for speed or power, I wouldn't recommend it. It's worth the price.

I needed a power adapter to have as a spare in my backpack. This works well and has had no issues at all.

It's a little bit big, but that doesn't stop me using it.
