My son and I put it together pretty easily until the very end when we had to call my husband in for reinforcement. One side of the base where the actual popper case sits in snug had been bent before we received it. It didn't seem like it would be too much to make an impact on assembly, but it was. My husband had to use plyers and a mallet to push the piece out enough to drop the case in. This imperfection does show on the outside. But it didn't bother us enough to send it back. It also doesn't get in the way of functionality. So, we just deal with it. There was a bit of a learning curve for use at the beginning.
