I did pretty extensive research into what was the best bang for my buck knife wise, and discovered MTECH my first season in fire and have never looked back! They function extremely well, the blades are well made, sharp and are also easy enough to sharpen yourself. I’ve never had any issues with them being unable to lock and they might need a little breaking in but opening has never been an issue once used a few times. I also love that they have a ton of fun colors and designs and every type of knife i’ve purchased from them so far (like 10+ as i’ve gotten them for gifts for fellow wildland firefighters too and like to have a few extras as I stated am a puts who loses them regularly) has exceeded my expectations and stood up to the quality I expect from them at this point.
