Check out Bonsai cutting. **Q: Does it come in a pot? If not what size of pot would be needed?** A: The maple comes in a 4” pot. However be ware of this seller! The tree was NOT as depicted too young. I complained and Amazon and the nursery did nothing. Very disappointed and angry without a refund. **Q: Does this tree do well as a potted tree for patio?** A: Most small maples do, however if you live in a colder climate the roots my freeze to hard from wind exposure in a pot. Also when I got my tree it looked healthy, but it was as thick as a pencil with 3 branches. The leafs were green with some red and white. The roots were very full compared to the top. It needs 5 more years to anything of note. So bring the pot inside will be easy. **Q: Approximate size of 3 yr old tree?** A: I just ordered two 3-year trees. They are 40" tall and will need to be staked. They are tall and slender with minimal side branching. As others have mentioned, size will vary quite a bit.
