Great investment for your sweet kitties!
I’m a former Whisker Robot litter box owner, but not anymore! I purchased 2 of these Neakasa boxes for less than the price of 1 of the Robots. I’ve got 4 cats, & they all have taken to this litter box quickly. I love how easy it was to assemble & setup. It literally took less than 15 minutes total. The unit itself is already completely assembled. The only thing that you need to do is attach the legs & place a bag into the drawer. It’s that simple! The app was a breeze to download. The thing that I absolutely love about this box is the open top. Two of my cats didn’t really care for going inside the other boxes I’ve had because maybe, they could be claustrophobic?? Who knows, but I can definitely relate. The open design is going to make cleaning it so much easier. I had to take my other one apart. It also makes adding more litter super convenient. This litter box has changed having a litter box that I dreaded dealing with to one that I love! The only thing that I wish was different is the drawer. The bag just doesn’t look neat & snug enough for my liking, but I am OCD. It works great, but it’s just odd. It’s definitely efficient & controls odor which makes it not a big deal.

Get one - it’s life changing!
I wasn’t sure if our elderly (18 year old) cat would adjust to an automatic kitty litter box, but honestly this unit was life changing for both of us! I put this next to her old litter box and within 1 day she was using it. The Neakasa unit was easy to set up and best of all it needs little assistance from me to keep clean. I normally empty the collection tray twice a week and there is no bad odor in the meantime. The unit is a little high for my arthritic kitten, so my husband built a few steps leading up to it to make it easier for her to get in and out. She is picky about what she steps on, so I didn’t think she’d go for the steps Neakasa offers. While I’m not a fan of having an app for everything, I do find the Neakasa app convenient - it records my cat’s frequency of using the litter box and her weight each time she enters the box. This has been very helpful as she has had lifelong kidney issues. But let’s not forget the best part - not having to scoop out a litter box! I’ve had this unit since October 2024 and it has held up great, works as well as it did when I first got it. Of all the things I’ve bought for my kitten I do believe we both appreciate this one the most. :)

- Do not buy this product!
If you are looking to buy this product, don’t. I would like apologize in advance for the long review, however I believe it is worth a read. I purchased this product in July 2024 for around $500. It is selling today for $380. That should tell you a lot right there but I would like to share my terrible experience with this product and Nekasa’s customer support. I have had nothing but problems with this machine since it was purchased just under 2 years ago. ( I’ve only been able to effectively use it as intended for about a year and a half because every time I have to contact customer support support I end up emailing back and forth for months online end before anything gets resolved if it ever does.) 1. My first issue came into play shortly after purchasing. The entire assembly is made of cheap plastic and is. It designed well. It is pieces out together with seams. The rubber litter tray is not secured tightly to the box, and if your cat pees on the side of the bin area, the urine will leak through the seams and down into the base of the machine. The machine after just under 2 years of use smells horrendous. After contacting the support email about this issue their solution was to send me the flimsy silicone stickers that they sell because they know their product is not quality and is not assembled in the best way possible. 2. As a result of the problem listed above and the waste disposal method of this machine, there will be litter that accumulates in the door area causing the door to grind terribly, get stuck, and even become misaligned. I have had to deep clean this machine once a week to keep it functional due to this issue. If the doors become misaligned, you have to disassemble the entire base to clean it and reassemble it again. This requires you to have and extra long necked screw driver to be able to reach down into the holes where the tiny screws are located, unscrew about 20 screws (Hope you don’t lose some), deal with a smell worse than a dive bar’s men’s urinal when the AC is out, and try to clean all the loose litter and urine out of the sensitive electronics and all the nooks and crannies this machine has. Oh, and better try and put it all back together exactly as it came apart because if you don’t, you won’t know until it’s fully reassembled ( there’s no other way to test it). If you don’t, you get to play with the tiny screws and the smell again. 3. The litter issue above will cause the door gear to break. That is also made out of cheap plastic. The teeth have broken on me twice and I have had to replace this gear twice. The inside of the base is nothing but exposed electrical panels and loose wires. The only water proofing is the small amounts of silicone around the wire connections. Not great considering urine leaks through the whole machine. You will have to break the waterproofing the replace the gear motor assembly without breaking the other wires near by or the electrical panel. I even found some unconnected wires in my box when opening it up to clean or replace parts. 4. I most recently had the panic span my phone and email with a weight sensor error. When trying to reset the weight sensor it tells me I need to update the firmware, but I can’t update the firmware without clearing the weight sensor error. Had to reach out to support again, and their solution was to pick it up off the floor for 5 seconds, set it back down and drag it back and forth across the floor. As you guessed, this did nothing. They told me that the machine was out of warranty and that I would need to pay $250 for a new base. (This would bring the total spent on Theo box to $750- should’ve bought a litter robot for that price). After arguing with them for a month, they finally agreed to send me a new base for free ( the least the could do after so many issues from the start). I opening the new base today to find that they sent me a USED base. They didn’t clean it thoroughly and there is still dirty litter and litter dust all of their machine. It is cracked, covered in scratched, and missing legs. Redistributing used parts of a product that handle animal feces is abhorrent. This could lead to the transfer of diseases and bacteria. This should not be allowed. Needless to say, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. You will waste your time, money, and sanity. Customer support wants nothing but your money, and does not take care of their customers. One of the worst experiences I have ever had as a consumer. I hope this review and pictures saves others from going through this experience.

This is it!! Where has this thing been all my life??!! ❤️
Long but worth the read to know how to get your cats to use it. I chose this automatic litter box because of the open top. I have a male sphynx who has a long body and weighs 10 lbs and I also have a small female sphynx who weighs 6 pounds. My male does this crazy looking thing where he stands up on his hind legs and holds onto the side and pees. I had a feeling the enclosed litter robot might not work for him. I’m using the arm and hammer hard ball litter in this and it works wonderfully. The smell of this litter is amazing!! My whole room smells nice. Sphynx cats eat more than other cats and they are stinky when they poop! They can clear a room! The only time I smell the box is while they’re pooping and I never smell it again. I have this box set to turn over the poop to make sure it’s coated good and then clean and dump it 7 minutes after they get out! It’s perfect timing for my cats. It gives it time to clump and then dump. When I first started setting it up which is a breeze to do btw, my male kept jumping in it like it was a box to play in. I had to remove him 3 times to finish. I activated it to level the litter and he was fascinated with the movement and watched it. I removed their old breeze box completely out of sight and placed this new one in the exact same spot that the old box was. This is gross and graphic but it’s how you need to do it: The way you get them to use it is, you take a decent sized, coated with old cat litter turd out of your old box, you can use a glove, but I just used a few paper towels and picked the biggest one out before throwing the old box away. It was pretty dried so it broke up into 3 pieces when I went to put it in the new litter which worked out because I planted and slightly buried with the tops still showing slightly in 3 places spaced out in the new litter box. Make sure your new box here is set to manual instead of automatic so that it doesn’t dump your turds you just planted right away. If you have multiple cats, you can set it back to automatic AFTER ALL your cats have done their business. My male sniffed and quickly realized that this is not a box to play in but a box to do his business. He cautiously climbed up in it and scratched around and finally positioned himself which I took a picture of. My female was sleeping at the time, so she hadn’t had a chance to notice the new box yet, so the old turds and his business he just did was left in there. When she woke up, she went to the area and just stood there and looked at it for a couple of minutes but then she started smelling and inched closer to get a better whiff and check it out. Now, she’s pretty tiny so when she went to climb in, she struggled a little because it’s taller than what she’s used to. I need to find a small step but I haven’t found one yet that I can place in front of it on the mat to help her. I left her alone tho and didn’t help her because she was in the mood to use the box so I didn’t want to distract her or have her associate having to go with any disruptions so I let her struggle and pull herself up in there. She did the same thing he did, smelled for awhile and scratched around a bit and then she peed. I let her take her time getting out and go on about her business and then I turned the automatic on a few minutes later. Both cats just watched it move and it was very quiet so I didn’t bother them at all. They have used it every time like normal since and that was last Friday when I got it. I decided to check the drawer 4 days later and it was time to take the bag out and put a new one. Just DON’T open the drawer until you’re ready to change it because, it’s stinky when you open it. The drawer is sealed very well though and contains the smell so you only smell it when you open it. I’ve never smelled it at all before when walking by the box. I decided every 4 days was a good time frame to check and change the bag for my two cats so I set a 4 day reminder in the app. I love how you can just cinch it up and throw it away and the bags aren’t cheap. They are heavy duty! God!! That’s so easy and quick! I love it!! I may change litter but I love the smell of this one so much that I don’t want to. My male is a wild man getting out after he does his business. I guess he feels so good and light that he just barrels out of there so he flings. The mat is great though! I just fold it up a little on the sides once a day and dump it back in the box. I put another rug on the other side of the mat to catch anything in case he jumps out and over which he almost always does. That is working well. I was a little nervous about making this investment but it’s the best decision I’ve ever made for my cats and sooo worth it! I’ll never go back to sifting turds out everyday again!

Has changed life with having cats. Wish I'd known how much!
This has been a game changer for us with cats. I have looked at these for several years now and just could never justify the cost, which is near prohibitive. However, due to various circumstances, my frustration with having to deal with regular litter box due to nagging the actual owner of the cat - a teenager - to clean the litter every day, and finally going upstairs to a room that reeked of ammonia because the litter box was simply being ignored, was the last straw. I calculated what the litter box would cost me per month, of it cost $500 and only lasted a year, and decided that monthly cost of roughly $40 was worth it to not have to deal with it anymore. I had no idea how much it would positively impact cat ownership for us. We've gone from a daily hassle and headache with stress due to having to constantly nag my daughter to keep up with the litter, along with the scoops, trash bags, little trash can full of overflowing poop that flies love to make a beeline for, to a hallway and room that you can't even smell that there is a litter box, no scooping, no hassle, no making my teen boys stand with the kitchen trash can open while I pour the soaked litter crystals out. No kore nagging my daughter, no more mess surrounding the litter box from all of the accessories required to use a conventional one, and no more hassle! It works perfectly, app is seamless, litter is always clean, and cats and humans are happy! If I'd known it would be such a life changing device, I would've bought one three years ago when we first got the cats. My only gripes are that the rubber tape on the inside has already started to come off, and litter is getting trapped in the space between (small gripe) and the trash can thing below registers full and litter box stays upside down until fixed LONG before it's actually full. It requires that we show it up so the contents settle, to make full use of each bag, but those two issues are far less bother than what we were dealing with before we got this. I just wish it would jiggle the box below by itself so it would reshuffle the contents and not flag it as full before it's actually full. Other than that, it's perfect!

Safe! Very happy with this box
I'm very happy with this purchase. I needed an auto cleaner litter box but most of them are so dangerous and kill cats. This one is different. I have watched as my very curious girl will wait for the box to start its cleaning cycle, and then she puts her paws on the front to play with it. The box immediately stops. The sensors are very sensitive and are doing a great job. Also, this box is open on top and the way it cleans is a process of moving slowly back and forth before finally turning all the way. And there is not space for a normal size cat to get stuck. It is also sensitive enough that even a kitten touching it would stop it. So I'm happy. I have an aggressive digger who flings the litter out of the box, but the litter trap mat it comes with catches it. I can then pour the litter back in. I did purchase the litter guard and that is being delivered tomorrow. I also like that this box can be set to clean after every use, or on a schedule like every 3 hours, or i can turn off the auto clean and just press the clean button when i want to throughout the day. The options make it customizable to your needs. I have several cats of varying sizes. Smallest is 6 lbs and the largest is 25 lbs. This works! The app tells you the weight of the cats and how many times they use the box per day. It also tells you when to add litter and when to empty the refuse tray. I recommend this box!

Best of the bunch...
I feel hat that the open top design is the best for a litter box, and the M1 does a great job. Automatic emptying, weighing my cat and monitoring his box use is information you cannot get from a regular litter box. This could be helpful for spotting health issues with your cat. Simple operation, online monitoring, self cleaning, weighs your cat every time they use the box, along with how long they are in the box makes this the perfect box for me. If you experience any issues with the box, the support staff is top notch.

Good concept that doesn’t overcome poor engineering.
I went with the Neakasa M1 because I like the open litterbox design and it was on sale and substantially cheaper than other high-end models. I think, like most people, I purchased an automatic litter box because the daily scooping of standard ones becomes draining after a while. My goals were simple: scoop less, smell less, clean less all while being safe for the cat. It accomplishes some of those things very well: scooping is no longer a thing, and there safety mechanisms on this prevent kitty from being hurt despite my two cats trying their best to off themselves by jumping in from the back mid-clean. It pauses with even minor sensitivity on it, and the safety features are working as expected. What it does okay: smell less. While all of the kitty turd nuggets are stored in a garbage bag within a bin, it’s not completely air tight. It smells especially bad when it’s going through the cleaning cycle. So, while it’s an improvement over a standard open litter box, it still smells more than you’d want. Definitely not suitable to put in a common area where you spend a lot of time. Now for the bad… while you’ll do less scooping, the design of the box does nothing to prevent litter from being kicked out. It includes a mat that is supposed to help catch this, but it’s nowhere near adequate enough. I end up with basically a sandbox on the floor multiple times a day and it takes more time and frustration dealing with this than it did scooping litter out of a normal litter box with larger pine pellets (which can’t be used with the Neakasa M1). There’s third-party made add-ones that you can buy to address this, but they’re expensive and end up making the cost around the same as the high-end enclosed litter boxes. And my cats weren’t even that big of diggers before, but with the shallower amount of litter, combined with needing standard clumping litter over larger pine, it’s turned my cats into little digging machines. It’s been two months now and they have not changed their behavior. So, if you’re thinking “oh maybe this won’t apply to my cats they barely do that now”, learn from my mistake and don’t think your cats are different. Outside of that, a few other negatives: - If you’re thinking purchase from Amazon, or anywhere else but Neakasa directly, they don’t honor their 30-day trial return. - The app and sensors it utilizes is pretty mediocre. It does a poor job of accurately weighing your cat, so if your cats aren’t more than a half-pound difference in weight, it will often incorrectly report which cat used the litter box. Due to that, in this scenario you can’t really use that data to determine if one of your cats has a new health issue if they suddenly start using it more. - The push notifications are pretty bad and don’t work well. I’ve tried on both iOS and Android. You only really get a push notification if there’s a problem like the litter bin being full, but this is often inaccurate and I’ve pulled out the tray to find it barely even filled (along with a nice whiff of the poo winds since it doesn’t seal the bag in the tray). - I’m relatively tech savvy and the litter problem I so bad I even considered automating my robot vacuum to go clean any time the Neakasa is used and cycled but, as of April 2025, there’s no integrations available with Home automation platforms, no open REST api, and no webhook capabilities for this that you could use as a trigger. Overall, it’s just an okay product, but if I could go back I would purchase one of the other higher-end automatic litter boxes that are fully enclosed. This will probably end up in the basement eventually so I don’t have to deal with the morning delight of litter covered feet when I get my morning coffee. If an upgraded version of this is released, I highly encourage Neakasa to consider addressing these flaws in their engineering designs. A deeper litter box and/or edges around the rim where the cat can still step into an open litter box, but not have the space to kick litter out of it, should be priority number one. Fixing the weight sensors, mobile app improvements, an air tight seal on the wastebin, and integrations with home automation platforms should also be high on the list.

A Must Have Litter Box!
I originally purhased one of these before it had gone public as a indigogo. I fell in love with it so much I bought a second one as soon as it was released on Amazon. I originally had a different brand but this one stood out far. Its was very easy to put together. You clicked in four legs. Thats it! I love the ease of setup. My cats took to it immediately. I did not even have it finished setting up and they were already inside it. This machine is much quieter than my previous ones of a different well known brand. I love the simplicity. It was super easy to clean also. The bags install easy, and it holds a ton of litter. I can't say enough about this to date. I love that the app tracks each cats weight and their time in the litter. You can have the cats picture and weights set up in the app. This is a great feature to make sure your cats are using the bathroom regularly. I have been recommending this litter box to everyone I know! Neakasa did a great job with this new concept. My cats didn't even wait until it was set up and were trying to get in it. Last comment is, it really does contain the smell. After a week of not changing the bag I still have no odors at all. It's very easy to spot clean also. Just take a damp cloth and wipe the outer part. Your cat needs this!!!

Ottimo prodotto
