Anecdotal evidence--my now 16 y.o. (almost 17) cat was diagnosed with CKD after two years of treatment for small cell GI carcinoma and hyperthyroidism, with elevated SDMA and creatinine, some vomiting. I tried several supplements but the only thing I add now along her low-phosphorus food is this probiotic. After another year of treatment for CKD, her SDMA and creatinine are currently both normal. BUN was slightly elevated on her last check-up but she is doing great! (Diet: Hills k/d kibble + Weruva phos-focused wet food). For those of you who struggle to give the capsule whole, I wrap it in a tiny amount of pill pocket or American cheese, just enough to cover it, THEN roll it in a powder made from ground bonito flakes or Weruva phos-focused freeze-dried treats.
