Works for cooling my small 10" homelab rack. Used a USB power brick and a Noctua fan. Can barely hear it. I haven't had any issues with melting or it getting hot. Has an on/off switch and a potentiometer to adjust the fan speed. Easy peasy.

versitile uses
I eanted it to test computer fans before I installed them to see how quiet and fan output. It's perfect. It also showed me how the fan would respond at different speeds. must have for computer builders, many other uses too. Now I'll use it for soldering to use an old computer fan to blow away smoke, very useful. invent your own uses

Excellent tool
Works great. Have used it for a while now and for multiple set ups from testing pc components, running a fan on my desk, or using it to test automotive electrical components.

Simple and does the job
I use this to provide external power to a 4 pin fan contained in a ventobox 3d printing air filtration unit. Wiring up the red and black wires on the fan allows it to run at full speed. This cable is a good value and does exactly what it should.

destroyed my fan
destroyed my fan after about 5 minutes. janky build. also switch is labelled forward/reverse not on off, which would be a terrible thing to do to a case fan. also the speed control is only voltage.

Works perfect with the Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM fan, I can now use the dial to increase the fan performance to low or high or in-between. This gives me the benefit of picking the right noise I want and if I do require a bit more better cooling performance I can increase the dial to push the fan more better but this comes at the price of more noise. Its expensive, but its the best fan controller via USB on the entire market, the others have cables that do similar are chunky have boxes and power inputs but this ones slim and simple and just works.
