Heute bin ich froh, daß ich ihn als wichtiges Hilfsmittel für einen völlig anderen Einsatzzweck habe. Mir wurde wegen Krebs der Kehlkopf entfernt und ich kann seither grundsätzlich nur über eine Stimmprothese oder mittels eines am Hals ansetzbaren elektronischen Geräts mit einer roboterähnlichen Stimme reden. Beide Wege sind recht leise und für etwas weiter entfernte Menschen nicht oder nur schwer zu verstehen. Das gilt auch in geräuschvoller Umgebung wie z. B. Straßenverkehr, auf Bahnhöfen oder bei größeren Menschenansammlungen. Dank dieser kleinen Maschine kann ich nun viele der alltäglichen Hürden überwinden. Das ist vom Hersteller / Anbieter ganz gut gelöst. Ein sehr leichtes Mikrofon mit Halsbügel lässt sich nach Wunsch vor dem Mund positionieren und bleibt dort selbst bei häufigen Kopfbewegungen ohne zu verrutschen. Das Mikro leitet den aufgenommenen Klang per Kabel an die kleine Box, wo die Umwandlung und Ausgabe über Lautsprecher erfolgt. Dabei stört das Kabel keineswegs, im Gegenteil. Die Drahtverbindung hat keinen der Nachteile auf die man bei einer Funklösung stoßen würde. Die Lautsprecherbox trägt auch den An-/Ausschalter mit dem man die Lautstärke regelt, den DC In-Anschluss (USB-C) und zwei weitere Anschlüsse für AUX und Mikrofon. Man kann als Tragemöglichkeit zwischen Gürtelclip und Tragegurt wählen. Vor dem Gebrauch sollte man unbedingt die passende Lautstärke für die jeweilige Umgebung anpassen und Rückkoppelungen zwischen Mikro und Lautsprecher vermeiden. Nach einem Tag hat man spätestens ein Gefühl dafür entwickelt. Das hier vorliegende Modell von Edifier ist optisch unauffällig und als Leichtgewicht den Tag über durchgehend angenehm zu tragen. Die maximale Lautstärke ist für den üblichen Gebrauch mehr als ausreichend und die Klangqualität (ohne Rückkopplung!) ist angenehm für den Zuhörer. Wenn man will, kann man per AUX-Kabel auch noch Musik über den kleinen Monolautsprecher hören. Ich bin von der Leistung und den Anwendungsmöglichkeiten überzeugt und werde die Entwicklung auf diesem Gebiet verfolgen.
