HUGE BANG FOR BUCK
For the money, hands down the best 17500 (almost 18000) Btu mini split you can get! It gets hot and cold very well. Install directions were really descriptive and actually quite detailed with a lot of good information. I was pleasantly surprised by the guide. At full blast on the inside you can hear it, but it’s not bad at all around 50 DB is what I measured from a few feet away. This is with turbo mode on, regular operation is much quieter. The interior unit is sleek and modern, and the outside looks decent too-albeit pretty standard. If this unit runs well I’m planning to put a couple more in the house! Will update if anything changes.

Get some filter mesh, Take the instructions with a grain of salt
As much as I would love to give this 5 stars, I can't. The unit works, it blows cold air, installation was smooth (if you have the correct tools: Vacuum pump, manifold gauge, torque wrench, crows foot, Allen keys). It's quiet and easily mounted. R32 is, at least available, if something goes wrong. But if you perform the installation correctly you won't need it. What's wrong? This particular unit doesn't have filters to cover every inlet. So in particularly dusty environments, you'll want to cut your own from some filter mesh. It seems cheap to me, but I guess it depends on your environment. My unit has a filter on the primary air inlet on the top, but none in the front below the panel. The front panel IS NOT a filter, and every mini-split I've installed or seen has both front and top for that reason. That said, filter mesh costs $10 on Amazon so get it. The second issue is the instructions. If you are DIY'ing this for the first time, and have never done it before, watch some videos or do some research before hand. The instructions tell you to pull vacuum on the lines, then skip over shutting off the lo side of the manifold gauge prior to opening the stop valve... Step 4. says "After applying vacuum, fully open the stop valve with a hex wrench" If you do this, all of your refrigerant will suck out through the vacuum pump, especially since step 3. doesn't say to shut the vacuum off. Again, great unit otherwise, my summery is get some filter mesh for the front, and don't follow the instructions verbatim. Do your research. R32 is over $200 for 5lbs right now.

Easy and it works…
I installed this mini split A/C to my 900 square foot home/office. I was surprised as to how easy it was to install using the insulation instructions + YouTube University. It worked perfectly. Very satisfying and overwhelming pleased with it’s performance.

Failed after 6 months. Insanely loud. Worst and most stressful Amazon purchase in 16 years.
My wife and I bought our first home together a year ago as of writing this. We needed to replace noisy, inefficient baseboard heaters in our downstairs living space. After some thought and research, we decided to order this unit. Having a background in automotive, carpentry, woodworking, and electrical, I felt more than confident to take on the task of installing the unit myself. Installation was... difficult. It takes a lot of precise planning on hooking one of these up, including the electrical, running the plumbing/drain hoses. The unit did what we needed it to most of the summer. It was warm in early summer, and blew nice cold air on hot summer days. For the most part, we didn't have any serious problems with it. Fast forward to now... This YITAHOME mini split, in the last 2~ months, has become a stressful nightmare to me. The colder it got, the louder and louder it got and ran. It was barely blowing warm air. The noise was INSANELY loud and debilitating, it sounded like a power plant some evenings. But it was our only source of heat for a significant part of our house. It caused me many sleepless nights, worrying about it failing (or worse), and the stress of it failing and making our house get too cold. I have tools to detect leaks and there were no significant leaks in the system. Someway, somehow, the heat pump/compressor system started to catastrophically fail. I called around for help, and no one will touch this unit, because it is not a well-known, brand name mini split you can order parts for. Eventually it totally crapped out, and we are now paying professionals $8,000+ to put a high-end Carrier system in. I am out a LOT of money, including the tools and fittings I had to buy to make this work. I can't put into words the amount of stress this YITAHOME mini split has caused me. The installation, the noise, wrecking our sleep, all of it. I think, people need to be VERY cautious about buying this, or any of these "DIY" brand mini split systems. YouTube videos make you think these things are very doable, but they don't paint the full picture. This thing was very trying for me, and I have a lot of experience in the skills needed to install one of these. And it's failure is $700 + another $500 down the drain in tools and accessories to do the job and diagnose issues, not to mention all the stress it's caused me. The pros told me these Amazon units (including this brand and "Mr. Cool") only come with a 1-year warranty because they're junk, and you can expect the parts to fail, and you can't replace them after. There's a reason pros charge so much money to do these. They're very delicate machines that require a very good vacuum and then a very precise amount of refrigerant. Despite these units coming "precharged", I question if the refrigerant amount was off. If you are going to go the DIY route, number one; I don't recommend this brand. And number two; I really wouldn't use this on a critical space where you live in and need heat, especially in frigid winters where it can fail. If I were gonna do a DIY unit again, I would only do it in my barn/workshop.

The description states there is no cover for the valve assembly on the outside unit
I had this installed by a licensed A/C tech. Took him about 4 - 5 hours from unboxing to blowing cold air. The only thing of not so far is that the description specifically noted no cover for the exterior coolant valve assembly and the pictures show them uncovered. I looked for a cover for this and couldn't find anything, not even a generic cover. When the tech unboxed it, a cover was there. Maybe I got lucky? I have no idea, but I have another unit (Different brand) that will be installed and it also said no cover was included. Will be interesting to see.
