We are treating it, of course, but she keeps licking it, so we finally put her in a collar. I did a bit of research and chose this collar and I'm so glad I did! It inflated easily. It fits well. She wishes she weren't wearing it, of course, but she tolerates it. She's clearly not uncomfortable. It is accomplishing it's purpose with no hint of deflation. I was concerned about getting an inflatable collar, but this turned out to be a good purchase. We recently had 8 rescue cats and kittens fixed, so we tried a number of different collars for them, none of them successfully. In retrospect, I probably should have gone the inflatable collar route for them, too!UPDATE: This morning I heard sounds of licking and sure enough our dog had managed to reach her upper rear leg to lick her problem spot. Its location indicates that she would also have been able to reach stitches from getting fixed, making this collar useless for its most commonly-used purpose. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is that the mere act of wearing it around us makes her more hesitant to lick her wounds. But apparently as soon as we're out of sight, she has at it.UPDATE: So now our doggie has been to the vet (again) for this leg problem. Despite the fact that this collar only discouraged her from licking and did not entirely stop her, our vet encouraged us to leave it on her.
