Good security camera with no subscription
I saw this item go on-sale a few times, and this last time I couldn't pass it up. The packaging is nice and professional. The quality of the camera and solar panel felt good out of the box, it had some heft and felt like it was of good quality. It was very easy to setup. You're most likely going to need a drill if you are putting it anywhere outside, especially into a beam of wood or a facia board, etc. Picture quality is actually quite nice. I can see the license plates of cars pulling in, I have a wide enough view to see all my vehicles, plus the walk-up to my front door. The 360 degrees is nice, just realize its more like 350 degrees. It will go all the way to where you can basically see behind, but then you have to go around back the other way. Think of a pie / circle with a small slice taken out the back, thats where the camera can't rotate, but you can still see behind it fine. It doesn't tilt very far up but tilts down good. The default angle its facing at out the box is pretty much the highest UP it goes. KEEP THAT IN MIND! MOUNT IT HIGH AS YOU CAN! All the functions work just fine on the camera. The app is pretty good, isn't too difficult to navigate or set up. I do not have the homebase yet, but plan on getting that with more cameras. Using an SD card for storage, just get one they are cheap for the 128gb. The phone app does take up some battery while using it. In the background its a lot less. But keep that in mind if your phone battery isn't the best, or is old and doesn't have the capacity it used to. The actual battery inside the camera unit lasts all night, and it charges up quick with solar. Overall good camera for the price. I didn't want any subscriptions or anything and this was one of the best I could find in the price range I was looking at. The AI tracking had some kinks at first. You may have to mess with the sensitivity. Mine was recording flying insects at night a lot for no reason at first. After about the first week it seemed to stop. Either the bugs went away (doubt that) or the camera either learned through AI or had an update. It "bugged" me at first but it worked itself out after a few nights.

Great product
I originally bought this and then found the same brand at Costco and bought another one, they charge so fast and let you know when they are fully charged. This will keep 24 hours of video which you can review and choose to down load the ones you need. Or install a scan disk for longer videos and more days. I loved being able to keep any eye on the front and back of my home whenever I am away. The motion detection and person tracker is very cool to watch. I was able to speak through it to my son when I was out of state and he was in the back yard. It is super clear video even at night. It will scan so far and wide that I only needed 1 camera in front and one in back. When raining days comes the solar charge will last 4 days with no direct sunlight.

Very useful
I've been looking at a security camera for a while. After reviewing this product and competitor products, I decided that this would serve the purpose and it does. The video quality is good and it was easy to set up. The app takes a bit of work to fully understand, but it works very well. The solar panel provides ample power and the unit has been quite reliable. I do recommend it. Update: I started having issues in late November. The camera would go offline. At first, I thought that perhaps the solar panel wasn't charging. However when the camera would come back on, it showed it was fully charged. I engaged Eufy Support, and we did some troubleshooting, then the camera started acting normally. We closed the ticket, then a few weeks later it happened again. I reopened the ticket, (Actually opened a new one with a reference to the original), and provided a detailed description of the issue. Since the unit was still under warranty, they agreed it was probably malfunctioning and needed to be replaced. However, second level support asked me for a few more details and to provide the logs. Since I've worked in IT for a very long time, including a stint doing some QA, I knew what they needed and provided a very detailed report of what happened, and how the camera would start back up if I brought it into the house and started charging it. It usually took several hours for the camera to come back on and reconnect. One of the times this happened, I heard an audible click and the camera came back on. I provided this information to Eufy Support. I also noted that when I ran on just the battery with the solar panel disconnected, there didn't appear to be an issue. They came back a couple of days ago and said they found a bug and were putting together a firmware update. They notified me that it was installed and asked me to verify the version. I confirmed it, plugged the solar panel back in and provided them all the details including time and weather state. (Very cold with a blizzard coming in) We shall see if the firmware update worked. FYI, if you have a problem and need to contact support, try to be as detailed as possible. The more information they have, the better able to provide an answer, even if they have to send it to second level support.

Home Secure
Great camera and easy to use with the Eufy app. Motion detection picks up on people and not animals. Mounting was easy and stays charged. Love the voice feature to communicate if necessary. Will say there is a delay in notification if something is picked up

Good camera
We used this 1 camera in our back yard. It works well but not as well as the 360! We love those! Picture quality is good and easy to use.

Decent camera ruined by garbage power system
Installation and setup were fairly easy. The image quality, night vision and motion detection are fairly decent for this price point. It worked fine for a month but the problems started just after the return window, however. (I'll give the manufacturer an opportunity to remediate the situation, but I want to document this first, so you understand what to look forward to.) The camera itself is mounted under an eave, protected from the elements, while the panel is sitting attached to a bracket on the side. It directly faces the sun at noon and gets good exposure for about 6 to 8 hours a day. Every night, about an hour after sunset, I started getting several notifications minutes apart that the battery was low, then the camera would shut down. After some investigation and testing here's what I found: - Even on sunny days, the charge level wouldn't get above 15%, despite Eufy's claim that it only needs 2 hours each day to charge - Despite needing to be exposed to the elements, the top sheet of the solar panel has already started to separate from the PV cells underneath - Testing it indoors, staring at a blank wall in the same room as the WIFI router, from a full charge, the camera can only run on battery for less than a day (~22 hours). - Looking at the marketing material and doing a little math, it should run for about a week. However, the observed energy consumption is 10X higher than stated. - There's very little granularity for notifications in the app. You can't disable notifications for battery and charging states, for instance. That wouldn't be a problem if you only get very infrequent notifications but charging it overnight it would tell me every half hour or so that the battery was full, even though it hadn't been unplugged. - It corrupted an SD card to the point where it could still play back recordings, but it couldn't re-format it or read the used/free space - The power management dashboard is a bit useless for diagnosing any problems since it only shows 1 data point per day. The solar charging chart has never worked, as far as I can tell. I assumed that I'd need to hard wire it to a power supply after a couple of years, not just after a month. It might have earned another star despite that, but if the battery full nagging doesn't go away, however, it might go on a one way trip to the garbage. A security camera that shuts down at night or needs to be charged every day is going to be useless during a short weekend vacation. I regret not just getting a hard-wired camera.

Have battery/solar will travel.
I’m a huge fan of Eufy products and have gradually over time, replaced all the Blink and Arlo cameras with Eufy cams. I appreciate that they don’t require you to have a subscription, but offer one if you do. When we go on vacation I opt for a one month subscription. It’s very convenient. The solar security camera is really easy to install and because it’s battery operated or powered by solar, it can go anywhere providing there is enough light to operate the solar. That’s one of the big consistencies with Eufy, the ease of installation/set up. I was very impressed with the mounting bracket, it made it extremely straightforward to install it over 15ft up a tree using a 10ft ladder. First install the bracket and then slide the camera onto the bracket. The camera can be removed from the bracket by simply depressing the tabs on either side. I would recommend installing it as high as possible to prevent an intruder from absconding with your camera. There isn’t a whole lot of sun available in our backyard so I can’t weigh in on the effectiveness of the solar panel, we might have to trim some branches from the surrounding trees and I’ll weigh in on the solar after it’s been in operation for awhile. The picture quality is excellent. It does not false trigger with cars driving by or birds flying by, but when anyone is in the backyard it will activate and track the individual until they leave the trigger zone. Our deck security light gets triggered during the night and now I’ll be able to figure out who the culprit is (probably feral cats, a bear or a fox). Normally I get up to check, now I don’t have to, I can just check the Eufy app from the comfort of our bed. Update #1. It was lightly raining and windy last night and the camera kept triggering continuously even after it was set to lowest sensitivity and only human detection. Had to shut the camera down to preserve battery life. To say it’s sensitive is an understatement. That is not a good thing. False triggers that result in the camera needing to be shut down means the app needs some work to differentiate between actual intruders and being triggered by inserts, pollen, rain, snow etc. Dropping it a half a star. So 4.5 stars. Update#2. Impressively the camera has figured out the difference between what should be triggering it and what it can ignore. It was raining and windy again last night, much like the night I shut it down due to the incessant false triggers, but tonight, with the exact same weather conditions there was only one triggered event during the night. Back to 5 star rating. Update #3. The camera has been up for a week now and for the duration of the week it has either been overcast or raining. No periods of full bright sunlight. (Early spring here). The solar panel is sitting on top of the camera and facing S, but is also obscured partly by some tree branches. On a good day, it might get 4 hours of direct sunlight. The camera is running solely on solar power. Even after a week the battery has only dropped to 97% on one occasion, the rest of the time it is at 100%. The panel seems to be able to capture the slightest amount of light and run interrupted. Getting more and more impressed with the camera. The picture quality is also spot on.

Nice security camera.
I’ve been happily using EUFY security cameras for a few years and security SoloCam E30 is an excellent one. The view is clear and, most of all, you do not need to pay and ongoing cloud subscription.

Sistema Eufy

Good value and does the job.
Excellent, fully. Does the job. Been out there nearly a year. In addition to the Eufy app, ties in to Google Home as well.
