I use this to turn off my wireless Motorola Android Auto adapter. My EV6's USB port stays powered even when the car is off, but this cable works exactly as advertised. Now, my phone disconnects immediately when I shut down the car. I wish I had learned about this cable sooner!

This cable does exactly what it is supposed to do. It splits the data and power so that you can plug a wireless CarPlay adapter into the data USB port on your vehicle, but power it with a different USB port. Why would you want to do this? Some vehicles keep the data USB port hot (or turn it on when you approach the vehicle even if you don't get in) even when the vehicle is otherwise off, which keeps your wireless CarPlay adapter on. This means your phone will randomly connect to CarPlay even when you're not going anywhere. This is annoying. This cable prevents that from happening because the power USB port only turns on when you turn the vehicle on, so the wireless CarPlay adapter is only powered when you turn on your vehicle. The cable is reasonably well-built and should last a long time. It just comes in a little plastic bag but that's pretty much standard. The instructions are attached to the cable with a yellow tag that can be removed. I only have a few complaints, none of which is really the fault of this cable which is why I still give it 5 stars. First, the direction that the cable sticks out from the data side plug isn't ideal for my vehicle. Not a huge deal as this is a universal cable and it has to go somewhere. Second, and related, it would be nicer if the data side had a right angle up or down as it kind of sticks out longer than I would prefer. Again, since this is universal, that may work well for my car but not well for others, so it's hard to knock it too much for that. Finally, the data USB on my vehicle is USB-A, so that's fine, but all the other power USB ports in my car are USB-C, so I have to use an adapter for the power side of this cable. Again, not the fault of this cable, but it would be nice if there were a version that had USB-A for data and USB-C for power.

This solved my always powered on carlinkit adapter with carlinkit IA t-box power cycling problem. This set up allowed me to split the power to both units while allowing a separate and sustainable usb power source to the Carlinkit tbox to remain adequately powered and stop the power recycling issues I was experiencing trying to power both units on the same usb power source.

Hyundai, for some reason decided to your android auto USB port should keep working even when your car ignition is off. this means if you are using a wireless android auto adapter when you are in your house getting a phone call it will connect to your car speakers and play voice inside the vehicle even when your car is off.... this adapter solves the problem by cutting power to the USB when igntion is off. I have tried other USB splitter bands and so far this is working without any issues.

Needed this because in my Hyundai Ioniq 5 the car doesn’t turn off the usb data port so my wireless CarPlay adapter wouldn’t shut off. Using this with. 12v usb adapter shuts it down when the car shuts off.

It does a good job for its intended purpose, which is to power off a Bluetooth Android Auto adapter when the car is off. One problem for me is that when I transmit on my VHF ham radio it kills the Android Auto. Clearly this is a rare scenario but it's real. I would prefer if its cord were a bit longer.

Works great on my 2024 Ioniq 5 and a wireless Apple CarPlay adapter. It powers off the adapter when I turn off my car.

Purchased this after my wireless android auto adapter for my KIA ran my battery to 0. This is a great solution to ensure the USB devices are off when the car is off regardless of your proximity to the vehicle.

This was exactly what I wanted. Perfect for stopping my android auto adaptor from connecting to my phone when I'm not in the car. This device means that it will only turn on when the car is on which is perfect. Before this, my phone would connect to my car if I was close to it in the house or walking past the car which was quite inconvenient. Much more so when I was on the phone a few times and it moved the call across to the car's audio when I wasn't even in the car (and it wasn't turned on). Game changer! More places should sell these as I had to get it shipped from America. Didn't find anywhere in the UK making them.

Plug it in, connect phone, CarPlay on screen. Very simple, screen seems just as responsive as it was when using a wired connection.
