The MaedHawk Bypass Motorcycle CarPlay Bluetooth Headset Adapter is a compact, low-power device that emulates a Bluetooth headset to enable wireless CarPlay on compatible motorcycle infotainment systems. Designed for premium touring bikes like Harley-Davidson CVO models (2023+), Indian Chieftain, and Honda Gold Wing, it allows riders to stream music and navigation through their bike’s speakers without wearing a Bluetooth helmet headset. A must motorcycle accessory
I rarely take the time to write Amazon reviews, but this product absolutely deserves one. I purchased the MaedHawk Bypass Motorcycle CarPlay Bluetooth adapter for my 2026 Harley-Davidson Road Glide, and it worked flawlessly right out of the box. The setup was simple, the connection has been reliable, and I’ve had no issues with wireless CarPlay functionality. What I really like is the flexibility it gives me. My primary helmet has integrated Bluetooth, but I also own several other helmets. This adapter allows me to switch helmets without losing access to wireless CarPlay, navigation, music, and calls. That convenience alone made it worth the purchase. Considering the price, this has been one of the best motorcycle accessories I’ve bought. If you ride a Harley and want a simple, dependable solution for wireless CarPlay connectivity, I highly recommend it. Well worth every penny.

Works on Indian Cheiftain
Works well on 24 Indian Chieftain LTD with Powerband audio. The only limitation is that it cannot pass data (only power) through any cable you connect to it. In other words, if running wired CarPlay at the fairing you cannot simply daisy-chain this device. On the Chieftain I just connected it to the 12v power supply in the right saddlebag (unswitched, but the MaedHawk draw is negligible) and use the USB in the fairing as normal when I want to run CarPlay. I may get a wireless CarPlay adapter at some point, but I only use CarPlay on longer rides where I want to keep my phone charged anyway, and it only takes 3 seconds to plug it in... so, whatever.

Works Perfectly with Apple CarPlay on My 2021 Goldwing
I bought the MaedHawk Bluetooth CarPlay Bypass specifically for my 2021 Honda Goldwing, and it works perfectly. The biggest reason I wanted it was to use Apple CarPlay without having to have a Bluetooth headset connected. This bypasses that requirement and lets me use CarPlay on the Goldwing without messing around with a headset. Setup was easy, it connects reliably, and Apple CarPlay works exactly the way I wanted it to. If you have a Goldwing and want to use CarPlay without needing a headset connected, this is a great little device. Very happy with it.

Harley Davidson will void your head unit warranty if you use this and have issues.
I purchased one of these for my 24 RG CVO in January 2025. Before ever connecting it to the bike, I was having intermittent connectivity issues that I assumed was related to the Skyline OS being new and code still being a little buggy. Sometimes the phone wouldnt connect when it was plugged in before turning the bike one, sometimes the phone would just disconnect randomly and reconnect back while riding. It had no clear pattern or cause. By the spring of 2025 I had purchased a new phone, and installed an update to the skyline OS and everything seemed better. I had tested the maedhawk device on the bike well before ever taking it out to ride and it seemed to do the trick. Carplay was working, the connection issues seemed to have mostly sorted themselves out aside from the occasional lack of connection when starting the bike still after a quick stop (like for getting fuel). Towards the end of summer 2025, it completely shifted. I could only use bluetooth to stream music, connecting my phone to the cable would only connect for a few seconds, then disconnect, then reconnect over and over. Obviously Carplay wouldnt stay connected regardless of whether or not I was using the maedhawk or the bluetooth headset in one of my helmets. So I took it to my local dealer and had them investigate, they came back and said it was likely a bad usb cable, and put a request in for a replacement that was back ordered - it did not arrive until the middle of winter. Fast forward to just this past week, in april 2026. I bring the bike in to have the garage door opener enabled and to let them install the replacement usb cable. Well they did the work but when they tested the bike it was still disconnecting even with the new cable. So the dealer called HD tech support - HD told them that my bike showed that the maedhawk had been connected and they would not honor any warranty work on the head unit. Turns out, anything you connect to the bike gets logged which is understandable, and that data is collected by Harley Davidson, also understandable. I can appreciate that a business can't account for every possible scenario or thing that can be plugged into a usb system, but the fact that it seems like HD has been aware of issues with the maedhawk and made no attempt to warn bike owners of the issue or even communicate to them what the risk may be to the warranty on their $2400.00(ish) factory head unit UNTIL a dealer calls to get support. The dealer kind of messed up because they spent hours troubleshooting it just to find out it wasn't going to be warranty covered which cost them time and money. So, dont buy this and plug it into your bike if its still under warranty and you want to or need to use it. I can't verify or disprove whether or not it was to blame for any actual issues I was having, but when I asked if I'd have coverage for any issues that arose now that I've been informed of this, they said no. Once its been connected, Harley is not honoring any warranty on the 2023.5+ Harley Davidson Skyline OS head unit.

works to bypass helmet headset CarPlay restrictions 2021 goldwing dct non touring
paired easy didn't work when first paired. reset factory settings and repaired device worked like a charm on my 2021 goldwing. great option when you live in a state with no helmet law Update worked for only 3 days. Then stopped. It’s not an issue with the product but an issue with the 2018+ gold wings. Figured out I need to un plug the adapter every time I shut the bike off and initiate a sequence to trick the bike to seeing a headset. Turn bike on wait for it to load up. Then plug in adapter to seeing a headset. Then plug phone in. Don’t leave adapter plugged in I guess. Not a huge deal and for $25 I’m still happy with it Update again! Still was having issues connecting to CarPlay. Used a usb A to usb C adapter and put the adapter in the rear left bag and went straight cable upfront. Still saw a headset putting it in the rear bag. seems to be working fine now, comes CarPlay comes back on without even removing my phone from center console. I’ll update again if anything changes.

No Bluetooth Helmet Required
Bought a 2026 Goldwing and it requires a Bluetooth Helmet for Car Play. This attaches in the cubby on the cable and tricks the system. Took maybe 10 minutes to get connected, works perfectly without a Bluetooth Helmet. Definitely the best $20 dollar item I’ve bought in a long time.

No regrets going this route
I installed this on my 2025 Road Glide and it has worked great. I like that it is nice and small, along with being easy to remove if needed. It paired up quickly with my bike and is fully compatible.

Finally one that works!!!!
2023 RG - FINALLY something that works! Didn’t work for me when connected to the cubby box where you normally connect the phone BUT when I connected it to a power plug and plugged it into the TourPack outlet it worked fantastic! Turn Bluetooth off phone and plug phone into USB connection in cubby box. Also must be connected to “Rider” in device manager (just once then it connects automatically)
