Ihn gibt es in verschiedeneren Ausführungen, aber für meine Bedürfnisse und das was ich mache, reicht der "S" vollkommen aus. Die Verarbeitung ist super, die Nadel peilt sich recht schnell und stabil auf Norden ein. Bei meinen beiden anderen dauert das etwas länger. Das Rad der Kompassdose ist so schwergängig, dass die eingestellte Marschkompasszahl (MKZ) eingestellt bleibt und jedoch so leichtgängig, dass man beim peilen bequem dran drehen kann. Das find ich sehr gut. Der Ranger kann mit seiner durchsichtigen Grundplatte prima für die Kartenarbeit verwendet werden und der Spiegel macht ihn zum Peilkompass. Also genau das was ich gesucht habe. Ein perfektes Mittelstück zwischen Peil- und Kartenkompass. Der Preis ist super und wenn ich mich bei anderen Einträgen nicht ganz verlesen habe, kann der Ranger S auch gut mit teuren Modellen mithalten.
