i plug my usb device and nothing happens no play or even recognize my USB device , I cant find any troubleshooting for this issue , why ?

The DVD player itself is good, however the controller got broke. Can not get a replacement. I've bought universal remotes that really don't go with this DVD. (More Then one) trying to get something that will work. Thank goodness you can trun it on and hit play on the DVD Player. And it also tells me the DVD i put in to play is not for this region.
