As a homeschooler, I feel like all my Bible curriculum and early history woes are over. This is an amazingly put together book. It has beautiful old paintings and illustrations from many different time periods from around the world (so there is your "art" lesson). In each section, first there is scripture (straight from the Bible) to read, then there is a scripture study, then passages to memorize, then topical studies, art, etc... through the rest of the chapter. There is so much rich information that one could do a whole semester or whole year from this book (depending on how much one wants to focus on each area). I wish there was a book like this for each book of the Bible. I have young and middle elementary students, and they LOVE this book. We even dive into subjects from this book online, and they love knowing that the pictures were painted hundreds and thousands of years ago. This is essential for any family library, in a Christian home. As a disclaimer, it is a "young earth" point of view. Review: Excellent!!! - Ruth Beechick is an excellent writer. She has the insights of an academic in this book (as well as others), but is capable of writing to the young student as well as the adult. Highly recommended for unit study on ancient history or Bible study.
