If there are sugar beets per Amazon's description, these are high in sugar, then this drink would NOT be sugar free. The translated "Nutrition Facts" label sticker on the container does show Carbs 3 grams per teaspoon, Dietary Fiber 1 gram per teaspoon, and Protein 1 gram per teaspoon. It's a dry good so there's nothing to go bad that I know of.
