Massive upgrade over the stock strap. Way more comfortable, especially for longer sessions—takes pressure off your face and balances the headset better. The built-in battery is clutch, and the fast charging actually delivers like it says. Feels sturdy and well-designed, not cheap or flimsy. If you’re serious about VR, this is one of those upgrades you’ll wish you bought sooner.

Reduced eye strain, waaay better battery life for sure. I can play golf+ for more than an hour now, that game drains battery more than any other game I’ve tried. Little extra weight on your head so extended play sessions get tiring. Slightly hotter to wear for long due to the extra pads touching your head but it’s not too bad. Well worth it imo. Takes like 30 mins to get used to the new fit but it’s way more comfortable. Only feels a tad loose when looking straight down, like putting in mini golf for instance. Back of the strap is slightly bulkier so if you use this laying down or against the back of a chair it could get in the way a little.

I’ve been using it for a few weeks now, and overall, I’m really happy with it — especially when it comes to comfort, freedom of movement, and cutting the cord (literally). Let’s start with the best part: the built-in battery. Being able to charge the Quest while I play without being tethered to the wall is a total game changer. I used to hate being locked in one spot or worrying about tripping over a cord when things got intense. With this headset, I can move freely, spin around, duck, dodge, whatever the game throws at me — all without dragging a wire behind me. It really does make a big difference in immersion and convenience. The headset itself is surprisingly lightweight. I was worried that the added battery would make it top-heavy or uncomfortable, but it fits well and stays secure. Even during more active games where I’m moving a lot, it doesn’t slip or shift. I forget I even have it on sometimes, which is probably the biggest compliment I can give in terms of comfort. As for the battery life, it’s decent. It’s not as long as I had hoped, which is why I’m giving it four stars instead of five. That said, it still extends my play sessions by a good margin, and just having that buffer between full Quest battery and plugging into a wall makes a noticeable difference. It’s perfect for those longer sessions when you’re right in the middle of a game and don’t want to break the flow. Bottom line: if you’re tired of dealing with cords and want something that adds both comfort and convenience to your VR experience, this headset is worth picking up. The battery might not last forever, but the freedom it gives you while playing is absolutely worth it. I wouldn’t go back to the standard strap after this.

First off, I will say that no matter what head strap you get, you will have some pressure on your head. The choice is, however, whether you want that pressure mostly on your face (K4) or mostly on your forehead and a little bit on your face (H4)? Personally, I prefer the pressure on my forehead as it is more tolerable for me. That is why I prefer the H4, and returning the K4. With the H4, I feel that I have more adjustment options. Many reviewers stated that the H4 is too loose, especially when compared to the K4, however, I feel that the H4 was plenty stable. Additionally, you can configure this headset to press against your face as well, to give you that K4 feel if you enjoy those super intensive and workout apps. However, for all games I played (shooters mostly) I was able to adjust the H4 with minimal pressure on my face and still able to react quickly and look around quickly in the game without feeling the headset was loose. With the K4 that I used exclusively for about a week, I would get painful pressure on my cheeks within about 20-30 minutes. This also affected my ability to close one eye when aiming snipers and would fatigue my face rather quickly. This happened even when I tried to put as much pressure as possible on the top strap of the K4 to shoulder as much of the load as possible. I do appreciate though that the K4 has a more "integrated" charging cable, where the H4 cable pretty much just goes from the battery pack to the Quest externally. But this is such a minor detail that has no affect when the headset is on. Another win for the H4 is that you are able flip up the headset without any adjustments and see your surroundings when in a game, something that you cannot do in the K4 as the pressure on your face is what keeps the Quest on. The battery seems to be the same on both, and adds about 2-3 more hours to the headset for a total of about 4-5 hours. Another positive (for both the H4 and K4) is that the charging input is at the back and bottom of the head strap making it easier to enjoy the Quest 3 while charging, as opposed to coming out the side of the Quest 3. Ultimately, I personally feel the halo style head strap is much more comfortable, allowing for longer play sessions without much discomfort.

The H4 Boost strap is decent but not the best. My expectations for battery life and charging performance were not met. The Quest 3 often displays a message asking to use the original charger, which suggests the strap doesn't deliver enough power to keep the headset fully charged during use. That was disappointing. In terms of ergonomics, the strap does add some weight. To get a good fit, I sometimes have to tighten it more than I'd like, which shifts the pressure from the face to the forehead. That said, it is more comfortable overall for work or productivity sessions, and the design looks clean and well-built. One positive feature is the charging passthrough, which works very well. However, I would have really appreciated a removable battery system like the one BoboVR offers. I would've return this but I’m now traveling and returning the product isn’t practical. A rather odd issue I've noticed is eye discomfort, particularly in my left eye, when using the facial interface with this strap. I never had that problem with the original strap. Interestingly, removing the facial interface makes the discomfort go away. I'm still trying to figure out the cause. Despite its flaws, I do recommend the H4 Boost if you're looking for a more ergonomic strap at a fair price. It’s not perfect, but it's a decent upgrade over the original, especially for work focused use.
