Tean's Gourmet Traditional Rendang Dry Curry Paste for Meat, 200 g

This is absolutely delicious and is easy to make. Really authentic tasting rendang, and goes well with veg, chicken, fish/seafood.Great value - enough paste to make a 6 portion curry depending on how much sauce you like.

Absolutely love this Rendang and I’ve tried so many ready to use sauces. It’s very thick so it covers the meat and cooks well. Use coconut milk or water to loosen up if required. These are spicy hot which I love - don’t add and more chilli!! Slightly on the salty side which I prefer. All their sauces are fantastic, especially for chicken. I certainly recommend

The rendang sauce was nice.

Lovely taste, but I ended up using 1.5x the amount stated on the instructions, and even then it wasn't as hot as I would have liked. Still, very tasty. Would buy again.

It was a little spicier than expected but full of flavour. Will definitely buy again.

Made a beef curry with this paste and it tasted amazing! I added in a bunch of scallions and a scotch bonnet pepper to give it a bit of extra kick. Fried them til soft and then added the paste, cooked for 5 mins to release the flavors and then added the beef. There are comments on here about adding less liquid than it says on the packet - that is correct advice! I did not add any water just half a can, 200ml ish, of full fat coconut milk and simmered for 25 mins. Good stuff!

South Asian Theme day at work and we decided to make Beef Rendang, never heard of it but sounds lush… can’t find a paste or sauce available anywhere else so let’s try this - but first I’ll cook it at home for my family to make sure it’s ok…. Omg! Absolutely beautiful. I cooked the meat quite a bit slower, and longer than instructed on the packet but wow. The flavour! BEAUTIFUL!! Served with boiled rice and seasoned roasties

I came across this curry paste when I was looking for something else on Amazon and it popped up under the "you might also be interested in" list. I love Malaysian cuisine and Rendang dishes. I bought this not expecting much and based purely on price and my liking of anything Rendang. It turned out to be great. It really tastes of the Rendang dishes that I get from popular Malaysian food restaurants in Oz. The sachet is a concentrated sauce that needs of water and coconut milk, plus dessicated toasted coconut at the end. The quantity of sauce in the sachet is meant to be used with 1.5 Ks of meat, but I used about 700 grams, so it turned out more liquid than it should be. However, the taste was phenomenal, no acidity or chemical taste, and it was a mild hot dish for me. I used it with chicken and added a chopped fresh onion, some Asian veggies and dessicated natural coconut (not toasted), and really enhanced the dish. I found the flavour medium hot. The main downside of the product is the added glutamate. Cooking instructions are on Malay and English on the packet back. This is a value for money packet, and great quality.

I dont think I have ever used a packet / jar curry mix that's tasted so good. I have tried to cook Rendang from scratch in the past but never could get it as good as this.This be my go too for Rendang from now on.My only issue was using chicken breast, it came out abit tough following the direction. Maybe use thigh or slow cook your chicken seperate then put it into the sauce.I am a chilli head so heat was perfect for me. But I could not give to my 8 year old it was abit above his heat threshold

I was so excited when I find this Rendang spice in Amazon. I used this product since I live in VA, USA 2 years ago. I was found it the first time in one International Grand Mart in Richmond but couldn't find it there anymore. I'm originally from Indonesia and my husband form Holland, we both like Rendang so much, my husband even say it, "food from heaven" lol. Since, this food need complex spice ingredients, not so easy to find each ingredient here, we tried some other brand but this one is the best one, the spicy, the complexity just perfect. Really recommend this brand if you Indonesian live in America.
