It should just rest in the bottle gully as the sides of the gully are slightly above the lip that the covers rests on. Medium grate cover stated as 176x10mm but in the detail the dimensions are quoted 26.4x23.4x2.2cms. What is the real dimeter?** A: I'd been looking for a drain cover for literally years making do with plastic rubbish that broke pretty much straight away. So I took a chance that the builders who laid the drains were working off standard industry kit. This made the medium cover closest for me. I wanted 170mm or 17cm and they said it was 176 or 7 inches. 176 is not in fact 7 inches. I went for it and it fits perfectly even down to fitting in the grove left by the drain pipe on which it sits. I measure it at 170mm. This cover, being made of an alloy, was easy to cut, and within a minute I had chopped a little bit off the edge for a perfect fit.
