This has been a great investment. We keep a boat docked on the river with WiFi available. I needed a physical Ethernet connection for my music server. This works wonderfully. It’s portable, so I can take it on the road and have my own VPN. Performance is great!

I decided to replace my Eero router I got from my ISP with something that, you know...actually works. I wanted to avoid TPLink, so I went with an Asus instead. I have always liked Asus products but, recently, their stuff has started to go down in quality. So far I have been really impressed with this router. The setup is as simple or complex as you want it to be. With lots of controls, some AI stuff I don't care about and the ability to setup multiple networks, depending on their function, has been amazing. Definitely recommend this router for the money. We have a 2k sq ft home, but I have no issues with the wifi signal, even in my backyard. The speed is great and tops out all of my 2.5gbps connections. I really wish it had a 10gbps local port, but the 2.5s are enough to satisfy my needs. Definitely recommend it.

This BE58U router is my second ASUS router. My first, an AC66U has been repurposed as a mesh node on my new Asus mesh network. The BE58U is probably overkill for my needs - about 20 connected devices over 3 floors and 3200 SF home. No gaming but 2k Netflix and other streaming. I have no devices that currently use wifi 7 and since the AC66U node is only wifi 5 there's no dedicated backhaul channel. First, the BE58U by itself seems to have slightly less range across both 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz bands than the old AC66U router. If I was using this by itself, I'd be disappointed and probably return it. As a mesh router using the AC66U as a node, it's a whole different story. Coverage and speed across both bands is vastly improved and at least part of my home is future-proofed for wifi 7. Much better set-up than my old TP extender set-up. In a perfect world, I'd have a wifi 7 tri-band router and mesh node but cost is an issue. For now, a dual-band wifi 7 coupled with an older wifi 5 node gets the job done nicely with room for future upgrades (maybe a cheap Asus wifi 6 router on E-bay?) BTW, setup was easy, no random network drops or resets, unit runs relatively cool, no network incompatibilities or glitches. I've had none of the issues mentioned in any of the negative reviews - at least not yet and never had issues with my AC66U. The Asus software and phone app are easy to us and provide a lot of useful information. The network security tools are also very good. I consider this a solid value and the mesh network a real upgrade in house-wide coverage.

This router works. I've read all the negative reviews and just can't believe it. I bought the router and never had a problem. It had the lastest firmware installed. This unit is fast. The speeds i was getting was wow. Now I have a 1Gb plan and was getting more than that. I've done speed test thur various sites and all came really close to one another. The stability of this router was very good quality thur out my home. Up stairs down stairs didn't matter. My wifi connection was great. Couldn't be happier. The app that you have to DL is very good. It gives you alot of info and options. I was able to update the firmware to the lastest that just came out. Everything went like clockwork. Now I did have to reboot it once done . Otherwise it has worked perfectly. I've had no problems. But I will update if something comes up. If your on the fence about this one ,I say go for it . This router is a good one for anyone who's looking to upgrade there old unit.

I have to say that this is the best router I've had. I've tried, TP- Link and Netgear. It has true wifi 7 connectivity with no drops. Very stable. Initial setup via the phone app was flawless. Seven 2.5 GB lan ports. And the RGB lights on the router are an added bonus. Amazon offers monthly payment option, so it's very affordable in that regard. You won't be disappointed.

It works beautifully. Sadly at the 6 week mark it started acting up. Absolutely nothing was changed or updated just acted up. Hard reset nothing, merlin side, any firmware, nothing. Today! New firmware April 1st 2026 from Asus. Does not correct it. Yes even hard reset after the latest firmware. :/ 5 and 6 ghz works but not at its full potential anymore. 2.4 just doest exist, won't broadcast. But for sure a very respectable strong router. Was very stable with almost 30 home devices.

Calling it a travel router does this unit a disservice. It may be small enough to be a travel router but it has enough power and memory to be a perfect home perimeter router. I already have a comprehensive wireless network built out but I wanted the benefits of Asuswrt-Merlin (think AdGuard Home, Entware, OpenVPN/WireGuard server, etc). This unit is perfect to slot in between my modem and mesh wireless access points (WAPs in bridge mode). It all works really well. Note: this unit only has a 1G LAN port so make sure you take that into consideration especially if your network is faster than 1Gbps.

Good router, Fast, good app, IoT and Guest networks, Mesh, WPA2 and WPA3.
