Whether you're building a high-end gaming rig, a workstation, or a power-hungry overclocked system, the RM1000x stands out as one of the best choices in its class. 80 PLUS Gold Efficiency – Stable and Power-Efficient One of the key highlights of the RM1000x is its 80 PLUS Gold efficiency rating, ensuring that power delivery remains stable and efficient, minimizing wasted energy and heat output. This translates to lower electricity costs and reduced thermal stress on your components, making it a great long-term investment. Premium Components – Built to Last Corsair has packed the RM1000x with high-quality, 100% Japanese capacitors, which are rated for 105°C operation, ensuring durability and longevity. Silent Operation – Zero RPM Mode A standout feature is the Zero RPM fan mode, which keeps the fan completely off during low to medium loads, resulting in silent operation. Even under heavy workloads, the 140mm fluid dynamic bearing fan runs whisper-quiet, ensuring a distraction-free experience whether you're gaming or working. Fully Modular – Clean and Hassle-Free Cable Management The fully modular design makes cable management a breeze. The RM1000x is an excellent PSU with individually sleeved cables.
I bought this Corsair RM1000x ATX 3.1 (2024) PSU to replace a faulty ASRock PSU. As one other review mentioned, the Cybenetics rating on the box for power efficiency has been recently updated from Gold to Platinum, which will help keep long term energy costs down for people who live in areas with expensive electricity. When unboxed, the power supply feels and looks like a premium product, and indeed it is. The modular cables in the box all come with individually sleeved wires, and the 12V 2x6 connector and ATX 24 pin connectors come with clamshell style cable combs preinstalled, which seems to be a newer development with this unit. I looked at multiple tech site reviews of this power supply and the only one with cable combs I found was the Kit Guru review, and those were manually installable traditional style combs. The cables did have a bit of a petrochemical smell to them, but it was far better than the ASRock unit I replaced. The cables on the RM1000x are also longer and more flexible than on the ASRock unit, making routing in my mid-tower case easier, specifically for the CPU (length) and ATX 24 pin (flexibility). The power supply performs exceptionally well, making absolutely no coil whine noise at any load, and works completely silently at loads below 500 watts. The fan control knob on the back of the unit comes out of the box set to 0 RPM low noise mode, leaving the fan off until the aforementioned 500 watt limit is exceeded. If you don't care about 0 RPM low noise mode, you can adjust the knob clockwise until it clicks, at which point you're manually controlling the fan, allowing you to set a constant fan speed anywhere in the fans RPM range. One thing to note is that the 12V 2x6 connector that comes in the box only has 2 of the four sense pins, but this is totally fine, as it powers my RTX 5080 without issue, so don't be concerned that two sense wires are "missing". I was extremely lucky to get this unit at a cheaper price only a day before it raised to its current price, but even around the $200 mark, this power supply is worth the price. Overall I give this power supply a 9/10, and only because I don't like that the fan is gray instead of black, which honestly is likely a complete non-issue for most people.

The Gold Standard just got a major safety and control upgrade
Corsair RM1000x (2024/2025 Refresh) I’ve been using the RM1000x series for years, but this latest refresh is a must-buy if you're running high-end hardware. Here is why this specific model is a step above the rest: The 12V-2x6 Safety Upgrade: This isn't just a rebranded cable. The 12V-2x6 standard fixes the "melting" issues from the older 16-pin designs by using shorter sense pins. If the cable isn't 100% seated, the PSU simply won't send full power, protecting your GPU from thermal damage. It's a huge peace of mind for anyone with a 40-series or 50-series card. Which was the exact reason I purchased it. If you are going to spend the money to buy the latest and greatest video card then by all means don't skimp on the power. Tactile Cooling Control: The Manual Fan Override Knob is a game-changer. It’s located right on the back panel next to the power plug, so it's fully accessible from outside your case. You can leave it on Zero RPM mode for total silence during work or manually crank it up to 100% during a marathon gaming session to keep the internals chilled. It's so satisfying to know that the fan that is inside PSU is not only running but as fast as you want it to because you can dial it in to your needs. Premium Internals: It uses 100% Japanese 105°C-rated capacitors, which are the highest tier for longevity. It’s Cybenetics Gold certified for efficiency and holds an A- noise rating, so even when it is working hard, it stays whisper-quiet. Build-Friendly Cables: The cables are "embossed," making them much more flexible and easier to route through tight spaces than the old stiff, sleeved versions. The Pro Tip: Register this PSU on the Corsair site immediately. It comes with a 10-year warranty. Corsair’s support is top-tier, and with a decade of coverage, this is likely the last PSU you’ll need to buy for the next several builds.

Clean Build, Quiet Operation - Hobbyist Friendly
Pros: - Only plug in the cables you actually need - simplified cable management - Quiet fan that only kicks on under load - Straightforward install, great for hobbyist-level builders Cons: - I didn’t find it sooner Full Review: I brilliantly managed to short out the power supply on my PC (PSA: Don't plug a USB-C cable into a USB-A port if you don't want to risk taking out your power supply...), and I bought this Corsair RM1000x in a pinch because it would arrive the quickest. I’m more of an inquisitive hobbyist than a tech expert so had assumed a power supply is just a power supply, but this one had a few features I lucked out on. Super clean and minimal cabling - no medusa-style tangle of wires coming out of the box, just plug in what you need. It took care of the rats nest I had previously by not having to hide the unnecessary cables inside the case. As for the cables I did need, I have an ATX mid-tower case and cable lengths were perfect - not too tight or too slack. The fan stays off during low-demand tasks, then spins up when I’m processing video or doing something more power intensive. It’s quiet when it does turn on, and most of the time it’s completely silent. If you’ve ever blown a power supply and need a replacement you won’t regret, this is it. Honestly, I wish I had this one from the start — it’s one of those parts that just works and makes your build cleaner and quieter.

Buyers, be aware
The description is somewhat misleading, as the 2024 refresh is a platinum power supply masquerading as gold (lower). The box and cybenetics website confirm it. That is a great performance anywhere near the price point. Well, always nice when a product delivers over the target spec rather than under, so kudos for Corsair. From the user perspective, the psu is great, runs rtx 5090 with no or minimal noise, the cables are individually sleeved and of high quality you'd expect from Corsair. This also helps quickly check the 12V-2x6 connector by hand to make sure no individual wire is super hot. The 12V-2x6 connector has a good latch and locks solidly. Clean, minimal packaging, easy to install. There are enough connectors to power almost any reasonable system. Overall, if you have gotten to this review, I strongly recommend buying it for most any use case in 2025.

This is an easy pick for a quality power supply at a fair price
Knowing Corsair's generally solid reputation for power supplies, and seeing good reviews on Reddit, I grabbed the RM1000x to support my GPU upgrade from an NVIDIA 2080 to a 3090. An online calculator estimated I only needed about 700 watts for my system, but I wanted power to spare for eventual use in my next build. This model definitely felt like a quality unit, which lined up with what I was expecting. So far, so good. It's been running smooth for about a month now and I have no complaints, just steady power. The modular cables were a nice improvement over my previous supply and made the upgrade pretty easy. I only plugged in what I needed, making the cable routing look much nicer in my case. It's quiet and reliable and I haven't had to think about it since the initial install. Of course, that is exactly what you want when it comes to a power supply! I feel confident this was a good value and money well spent compared to cheaper alternatives.

Powerful, reliable and basically inaudible. Works with Nvidia RTX 5090 and AMD 9800x3D combo!
One of the best power supplies out there. As the title says, I have had it for a year powering my PC and its been reliable and super quiet. I have literally never heard it and my case fans are quiet too. If you have a Nvidia RTX 5090 and AMD 9800x3D don't hesitate about getting this one. It will comfortably power the PC with enough head room. According to my UPS, the PC including two IPS monitors pull about 750W max.

"Trust but Verify"
Product: ( Cosair RM1000x 2024 ATX 3.1 PSU - Model # CP-9020201 - UPC: 840006603559). Product recieved was boxed and in perfect condition. After unpacking the PSU, no damage was noticed. A PSU voltage tester was connected to it and power cord plugged into the wall. The tester showed an abnormal voltage on the " -12v rail ". [Typically a PSUs " -12v rail" has a normal output of -12V ±10% (i.e., between -10.8V and -13.2V).] The PSU tester showed -13.5v on the "-12v rail", well outside its the normal power output. Additionally, if you did not see the comments, this PSU is a bit larger then some of the other PSUs on the market. Also, none of the modular cables were sleved however it did come with a pack of black zip ties. Product was returned and instead I purchased a Lian Li EDGE 1000w series PSU ( 2024 ) 80 Platium for nearly the same price. This PSU was also tested however, unlike the Cosair, the Lian Li EDGE PSU showed no abnormal voltages. If you are curious, the Lian Li PSU showed 12.1v for both the the "-12v rail " and "+12v rail". The modular cables came with a sliding bracket which added a little more organization while setting it up. Im disappointed with the Cosair but in the end im glad i returned it, i did not want to run the risk of damaging my system.

Top quality PSU
Sturdy, functions as intended. Would buy again. Only downside is it took forever to be delivered.

Game-Changing PSU, Absolutely Impressed!
I have to admit, when I first saw the knob on the back of the RM1000x that lets you control the fan or switch it to automatic, I was a bit nervous. I wasn’t sure if I’d mess something up or if it would be tricky to use. But honestly, this PSU completely exceeded my expectations. After 4 months of daily use, I can confidently say this power supply is game-changing. It’s rock-solid, completely stable, and handles everything I throw at it, gaming, streaming, multitasking without a single hiccup. The fan control is actually a brilliant feature: I keep it on automatic, and it’s whisper-quiet unless things get really heavy. The build quality is top-notch, cables are easy to manage, and everything feels extremely premium. I feel like this PSU is going to last me years without any issues, and it really gives peace of mind knowing my system is in safe hands. If you’re looking for a reliable, high-performance, and versatile PSU, the RM1000x is worth every penny. After 4 months, I’m extremely satisfied and can’t imagine going back to anything else!

Great psu for 5080
I replaced my rm850x with this because I needed more pcie pw connectors: Corsair 360 pump, Corsair fans and hub, CPU PCIEx2 connectors etc. Also the native gpu connector for 5080 is great! I like the small profile of the new cables, they look almost like the sleeved kits. The psu runs silent, happy customer
