You'll only have to buy it once great tool to have.
Awesome tool that actually shows the 568A/B wiring so you never mess it up. Durable easy to use and the crimp is nice and tight with the wires cut off exactly at the end.

Your next RJ45 termination tool.
I have an older Cat6 (Sullstar) EZ-RJ45 crimper/cutter that worked great for 5-8 years. Still does for Cat5e but moving to the Cat6a world, it doesn't quite keep up. My new trueCrimp RJ45 tool is great. It has the cable cutter, and cable score feature. Crimps the shielded ground on the connector nicely (round and smooth) and crimps and cuts the Cat6a cable and connector in one easy move. I also like the closed/lock feature that protects the cutting blades and internal hinge while it stores in my tool bag. It's overall a better tool than my old one.

Great tool, and v3 is an improvement on the original!
I really like this tool - it works great with the other stuff trueCABLE makes, but I'm also sure it would work with more generic options. It also feels extremely robust and overall well made. I wasn't sure what the v3 added (since it's not listed on Amazon), so I reached out to trueCABLE and they gave me an immediate and really helpful response! Was super impressed with their customer service. In case anyone is interested, the v3 has the following improvements: - The new feature and biggest difference is the ability to cut cable and crimp external ground collars for shielded cables - Another new feature is the ergonomic spring loaded anti-slip handle that returns to a ready position upon cycle completion - Can use with unshielded, shielded (internal and external ground), pass through, load bar style push in plugs - Self-adjusting cable stripper to accommodate cable jacket ODs from 6.00 to 8.00mm - Trims conductors from the nose of pass-through plugs accurately and automatically, even staggered conductor plugs

Not bad, but a bit of room for improvement.
These work well with the True Cable pass through RJ45 connectors. The only reason I didnโt give 5 stars is because the convenient color coding guide is easy to read upside down and if you arenโt careful while crimping the ground you can damage your cable with the cutting blade that is awfully close and only really guarded on one side.

TrueCrimp Tool for your TrueCable
This Crimp tool is the best. I had a budget kit for terminating Ethernet Cat6 cable and kept cutting too deep into the cable and wasting cable. I decided to get a different tool and I already had the trueCable so I went with the trueCable Crimp Tool. Great decision! Easy to use, cutoff is sharp, stripper does NOT cut too deep. I have yet to cut into a wire. The pass through RJ45 crimper and cuts off the extra pass through wire very nicely. Yes, I have the trueCable Pass-Through RJ45 connector. This product is a bit more expensive but it fixed my headache. Well worth the money.

Good Company
Great multitool. I held off on buying this and almost bought the Klein version. Then I started seeing TrueCable pop up when searching for cable. I did some digging into the company and really like their approach of wanting to disrupt the market with high end products at reasonable prices. Will definitely be buying a spool of their shielded, direct burial Cat6a cable! Make sure your connector is all the way in before you crimp. ๐

Pricey
This feels solid and works good, however the cable cutter doesnโt have a flat blade, only round base to cut the cable, however if you want to cut flat the wires you need to use an additional tool. Itโs expensive for what it is, I bought this and the cable mattes version at the same Time, have been using both and will buy the cable matters again, is great quality and have a flat cutter too for way less money.

It seems to be a high quality tool.
I have been using this tool on Shielded Cat 6 cable rated for outdoor use with about 50 connectors applied so far. The shielded connectors do fit in the crimping section, but you have to be careful to get it fully inserted before you crimp. It works well with the pass-through style of RJ-45 connectors (eight position modular) as it shears off the extra wire length neatly when you crimp the wires. I will not wear this tool out in my lifetime, but a commercial user might. I have used it to run a shielded aerial ethernet cable out to my ham radio shack so the shield is needed due to high levels of radio frequency energy associated with nearby transmitting antennas. I will also extend my internet out to a guest house on the property so that guests will have a reasonably secure connection to the net. Hint: the shielded Cat 6 cable with a messenger wire is quite stiff so wear gloves to cushion your hands when working with it. Be sure to extend the shield drain wire through any connectors you may use, some connectors do not pass it through so you may need an external method to maintain its continuity to "ground". Since aerial wire is suspended in the air, it can pick up a stout static charge from wind that needs to be bled off. Some of my comments have nothing to do with the crimping tool per se, but are included gratis to help anyone else extending their internet connection to another building like a shop or garage or a remote security camera or...what have you.
