El Jimador Anejo Tequila, 70 cl

Very nice sipping tequila at a very good price - there are, of course, nicer sipping tequila's out there but if you are less of a conniseur or new to the idea of sipping tequila you can't go far wrong. Always a bottle in the cupboard to sit alongside the Kah.

I came to try this drink, not from the younger tequilas but as an avid single malt scotch drinker who was looking for something a little different to enjoy. As such, the oakiness and hint of vanilla were reassuringly familiar, but yet with that exotic taste of agave laced across the palate. This makes for a very smooth, sippable drink with enough complexity to make me come back for a second bottle...

If you have not explored tequila, this is a reasonable place to start. They have as much variety and quality as scotch. This one is unlikely to upset anyone. I prefer more character. However, it all depends on personal taste and this one is good.

Really enjoyed this. Was my first sipping Tequila and I was very surprised at the quality. I am no Tequila expert but it was nowhere near the harsh experience of shots with cheap tequila. It mixes very nicely too but it's a bit of a waste to mix it.

Excellent for price! However would recommend Teremana anejo, although twice the price it's twice the taste! (..makes your tongue tingle, whereas this doesn't, despite being same alcohol content)

I've bought this tequila in Mexico and I wanted to replace it immediately after finishing it. So, I've only found it here and bought it. The taste is different so I am not quite sure what the export process consists of but I guess that you generally get these diferences with anything, anywhere. Unfortunately the bottle came without that plastic thingy that is usually on spirit bottles.

The wife wanted to get into Tequila for reasons I can't fathom, given my utter loathing of it as concept from back in the hazy uni life i once had... We did a bit of research and looked at the Anejo's and Reposados and thought we'd dip our toes in with the El Jimador, and i was pleasantly surprised when taking a sip that it didn't end up on the other side of the room in 1 second flat. As a whiskey drinker I found the taste to be in that ballpark with none of that strange near-oiliness mouthfeel I remeber from normal Tequila. Works well as a sipper as well as a mixer and now a convert!
