The Office Oasis Chair Base Replacement with Heavy Duty High-Grade Nylon, Industry Standard Size, Black

I see a lot of the bad reviews are about an aluminum base. A couple even have pictures. Amazon seems to have things confused. This is a nylon base, and it's very solid. I am extremely hard on chairs, so I'll update this post if I do manage to break it, but I doubt that will happen. I've already given it a punishing ride in my garage, and nothing bad happened - to the chair. My only issue was getting the old one with the broken wheel mount off the chair. No amount of hammering would do it, and I was starting to damage the thing even with a rubber mallet. Eventually I carried the chair out to the garage and cut the old base off with a band saw. I think I could have done it with a hack saw. It would have taken a lot longer, but if you're struggling with the hammer, it might be worth a shot.

After several years use, the base of my comfortable office chair cracked. I was so disappointed and did not want to replace the chair. I started looking at new chairs and was not at all happy with the prices I was seeing, then I found this easy to replace and very sturdy base. I read the product description, purchasing it rather then a new office chair was a no brainer. I also purchased inline skate office chair replacement wheels for my chair and after replacing the base and adding the new polyurethane wheels, its like I have a brand new office chair. For this reason I give this product Five Stars.

It’s exactly what you think it is. The plastic bases creak and crack over and this metal one is solid. You will need a hammer for the old one. I didn’t have patients so I used a saw and cut the old one off. Once it’s off the metal one is easy to push on

Amazon support is the worst. Ordered this item 1 year 6 months ago, when it broke I reached out to Amazon for help filing a warranty claim as the item is listed having a 6 year warranty. At first support seemed great they said that it wasn't a problem and they'd take care of it for me. They offered to replace or refund the item, and I said either was fine I just needed to get another base for my chair. They said fastest would be to refund via Amazon Gift Card to my account for the full amount paid and I'd not need to send the item back. I asked if I needed to submit pictures or any other information and was told there was not a need the supervisor had approved my refund and it would show up on my account in 2-3 hours. The refund did not show up however, I understood it was New Year's Eve and decided to give it a day. Next day nothing so I reached back out to support. This time I was told they could refund me -20% of the original amount to cover return shipping. I pointed out I was already told that they'd refund everything and I didn't need to return it. They looked into it and then told me they could not replace or refund and I'd need to reach out to the company. I asked to speak to a supervisor at this point as we had already made an arrangement the day prior. Amazon refused to accept responsibility for their employees words. The supervisor was extremely rude and dismissing of me. When I was asking for further contact information he told me that "we were going in circles" and he was done. He then ended the chat and left me high and dry.

I did like how easily it was to replace considering i had to replace the entire base due to the stuff that came with my chair was NOT easily replaceable. However...I'm short. the set up on this made me short. getting up in my chair was not always easy. My legs and back not comfortable due to height that base added. I had to make my desk higher to accommodate. ive had this for 6 months now. Today, as i sat my gluteus maximus down, I heard a loud crack and one of the wheels busted off. Im not happy. I had to go steal a chair from another room to return to work. Im now low on the ground and need to lower my desk again. I cant order another wheel base for at least a week due to moving. I love my chair. This sux

I bought a chair, and the socket on the star base that holds a wheel was broken. I needed a replacement and decided i didn't want to deal with any similar problem again, so i went for the metal. \m/ This is a copy of a standard wheel base, but cast in aluminum. This means it is hollow just like the plastic one (same thickness) but far more durable. I have now used it on two entirely different chairs with no problems. The wheels fit fine, as does the cylinder. It is a touch overpriced in my opinion, but it is worth it for the performance

I was a little hesitant buying this initially because the legs are narrower than on the stock base but, it's actually built more sturdy. The reason I got this was the side wall on one of the wheel post holes on my stock base, broke away causing the wheel to lay over. Even though the legs are narrower, the walls around the post holes are MUCH thicker than on the stock base.......about 5 times thicker. So far, it's performed perfectly and I think it will hold up for a long time and it feels like it's made of a stronger plastic than the old one.

This chair base is what I was looking for that is well made, durable, and looks great. The quality of the redesigned nylon base was apparent during installation and later after months of use. This is a great product at an affordable price! If you are looking to replace the base of your office chair with a different setup or modification you may want to consider this office chair base.

La base est en Nylon pas en aluminium semble très solide mais ca fait juste une semaine que je lai installer je ne sait pas pourquoi que dans la publicité on parle d'aluminium ca nous induit en erreur je ne savait pas ce que je recevrait je voulait en nylon. la base précédant que j'avait acheté était en aluminium et elle a brisé en huit mois.
