## Description

This set includes approximately 125 blue o-rings to modify the feel of your Filco or other Cherry MX keyswitched keyboard. The o-rings are fitted to the underside of each keycap, and soften the landing of the keys when pressed all the way down to the bottom of the keystroke. These are slightly thicker than our red and black o-rings 1.78mm apx, to give increased cushioning, 40 shore (standard hardness) and are made from ethylene propylene which is harder wearing than silicone.

    Does the O-Ring work?

*by M***Y on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 May 2016*

Ordered these blue o-rings to fit on a mechanical keyboard purchased recently. The product arrived several days after ordering, packaging was very basic, but then they are not fragile and weight a ton, so it made sense.Fitting these o-rings was straight forward and simplistic. I would suggest, however, have a flat headed screw driver handy to ease the o-rings down on the key 'peg', otherwise they have a tendency to pop off if not careful.Regarding their effectiveness at dampening the keyboard clatter? I'd say there was roughly a 20-25% reduction in actuation clatter. The worst offending key on the keyboard I found to be the space bar. Personally, I doubled up on the number of o-rings placed under the space bar - not an ideal method, but it worked. Are they worth the money? I would say no. Shop around. Do they work? Definitely. What would I do to improve on this product? Include a key puller for the price. If you are wondering about the keys I added them to: MX Cherry Browns on a Corsair K70 - the aluminium backboard was cause for louder clacking, hence the o-rings.

I bought these knowing that they were a heavier duty dampener (the ring itself is thicker) than the standard red type and personally found they affected the travel of the key a bit too much for my taste, making the key presses a bit heavy for general use (other reviewers love them so this is more a reflection of my RSI-affected finger strength than a slur on the product). They're perfect for keys which tend to take a heavier hit though, like delete and the spacebar so I'm glad I bought a pack of each.

    Essential for Cherry Browns

*by A***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 September 2016*

Bought these to fit to a Das Keyboard whose Cherry Brown switches were hurting my soul. The blue O-rings transform the switch feel from apathetic to relatively snappy. Travel is reduced slightly and the feel upon bottoming out is relatively pleasant. Typing is a much more satisfying experience compared to the standard unmodified keyboard. My only complaint is that the reduction in travel means that keys do not always actuate on a light touch, but I feel this is more a shortcoming of the switch design itself. I expect this may improve as the O-rings settle down with more typing.
