I was delighted to find diagrams and names (!) for stretches I have picked up from videos and books somewhere along the way. The nutritionist's section (!) includes not just good guidance about nutrients, energy, and muscles but a large set of recipes for the day of, just before, and after exercises sessions. Some of them look very tasty and I want to try them out! We bought this book to try and learn a little bit about pole work and what kind of exercise it is as we consider adding it to our collection of hobbies. We're quite pleased with the detailed background, emphasis on safety and the extensive selection of moves and tricks that are the core of this volume, but if I'd known how well the book describes and names stretches I might have bought it for that. It has great pictures to reference. I kept it in my dance bag forever so I could take a quick peek when I was unsure of the name of a trick. Much easier to have it all there than top have to search for a video multiple times during class. My book is now covered in bookmarks and notes and I really like it!

its a great book!!
this isna great book. clear pictures and descriptions. its set up well and offers examples of warm ups, stretches, beg/int/adv holds, transitions, and even some recipes for after workin out. it isnt perfect to learn a 3d sport from a 2d page, but its a great reference and idea sprouter. ๐

Good but needs revision
Good book for intermediate dancers wanting to gather inspiration. It even has warm-ups and stretches. What is sorely missing are safe dismounts from each pose. There is also only a written description of how to get into each pose and a picture of the final pose only, so if you have trouble visualizing, this book is not for you.

Lots of information
It has a lot of information, warmups, photos of pole moves and even recipes. (I don't need those recipes, though) I don't know if there are comparable books out there so I can't compare them, but I bought another costly "book" that was basically a small pamphlet with drawings of moves. That was a disappointment, so this book is so much better. I only wish there were a alphabetical index in the back do I could look up moves by the name. And of course pole move names vary around the country and world. There is an index in the back sorted by chapter, but I wish it was listed alphabetically. I plan on using this book as a reference instead of the book's recommendation of reading from the beginning to the end.

Great gift
GF loved this as a birthday gift. Her friends at the pole studio confirmed itโs a good book for exercised and workouts.

Doesnโt show step by step for each move
So this book is great because they show all the different options of moves, but they do not show step by step how to do each move. They have one photo of the completed move. How do I get to that? How do I make sure my form is correct. Still will need to YouTube every move for proper technique. Very disappointed by this book. But at least I know the names of the moves I want to know.

Seriously AMAZING book!!!
First I'm a newbie and have an instructor in pole that I adore. This book covers a lot of basics from the fitness stand point that at my age of 56 are important to know. The exercises are numerous and on point. The photos illustrate very accurately the hand positioning and the descriptions are perfect. In the first 30 minutes of reading and glossing over the first few chapters I have gained a lot of insight into Pole Dancing that will help me on my journey. If you are serious about getting into Pole for the physical value as well as setting yourself for more in-depth study I highly recommend this read. Its going into my routine!

Pole dance guide
Absolutely Perfect! Many exercices, strenght, workouts, flexibility, handstands, warm ups, and figures plus menus pre- workout I absolutely adore it and am really pleased to have choosen it!!!

A must for anyone interested in pole.
Great informative book. From warmups, workouts, both with and without a pole, to pre and post pole diet recipes... Easily explained with photos (for some moves multiple stage photos) to allow your pole life to be easily progressed.

Very happy, great quality for the price
Iโm way more impressed with this book and I thought I would be, it truly is the all in one book for dancers of all levels. This book includes warm ups, conditioning, stretches, pole moves by the level, combinations, recipes and more. Some of the moves in beginner were closer to intermediate level in my opinion but thats subjective. Overall a very well thought out and organized book. Highly recommend!
