So is this more like a cuisinart but manual?

It's a chopper. It's fairly robust but it's not going to do what a Cuisinart or any other electric food processor can do. I make fresh salsa in mine. Chopped tomatoes, chopped jalapeños, that sort of thing. It will chop nuts but you need some muscle to do that.

I need a chopper that will finely grind walnuts, basically to turn it into walnut meal. Will this processor do that?

It might. I have not taken walnuts to that stage. I guess it would depend on how much stamina you have.

Does handle store in bowl?

Hi, let me check...no. The handle is attached to the lid. If you store this item with the lid upside down/handle resting in the bowl, it adds about an inch to the height of the bowl. If you store it with the lid on, with the handle sticking up, it's about 5". Am I making sense? It is an awesome tool. Fantastic for avocado toast:)

The box says the handle is removable for storage. How do you remove it?

Grasp the handle at the base near the lid and pull straight up away from the lid. There will be some resistance because it fits tightly on the turning shaft. Be gentle but firm and it will come off. Note to the Oxo people; the manual for this product mentions that the handle is removable for storage but does not explain how it should be removed. It should. It's not as obvious as the designers think.
