SpeedRead Digital Thermometer for Baby, Kids & Adults, Color-Coded Readings, Oral, Baby Rectal Thermometer or Under The Arm, Water Resistant

After my last thermometer quit working, I needed something that would work quickly and easily for my family- with kids ranging in age from 16- 2 months, we all know speed is of the essence (esp when trying to take a toddlers temperature). This thermometer was at a comparable price and it works exactly as stated. I really appreciate the speed readings, esp for the younger kids, and the different indicator lights are great, too. There have been multiple times I've taken someone's temp in the dark and this makes it that much easier to not disturb those that are trying to rest while sick. I also have one of those infrared head reader types of thermometers, but I never know how truly accurate those are, I feel this is a more efficient way to get an accurate reading- which is so important to me when it comes to fevers in kids!

Easy to use. Haven't tested out the durability but it feels pretty durable. Reading speed is pretty quick compared to some thermometers that I've owned. Shocked about the price on it for being such a good thermometer.

I’ve had numerous thermometers and I always come back to this one and use it as my favorite because I can see it. I’ve tested it for accuracy against the ones at my doctors office and these are very accurate. The thing that I love best is the lighting on it. It helps me to know if someone’s running a temperature and I can see the numbers more clearly because of the way they’re lit. It’s a great high-quality thermometer had a really great price

I have five thermometers, and this is my second favorite. My favorite is my BBT thermometer--that one is very accurate and reliable, but it takes sooo long. This one is really fast, which matters because it's for use on my toddler, who will not hold still long enough for my other thermometers. I have a forehead infrared thermometer, but that one is very inconsistent and inaccurate. This one seems to be pretty accurate. The display is big, so it's easy to read the temperature, and I appreciate the color coded light to give me a vibe check at a glance. I don't care that it doesn't come with a cover, because I only use it in my toddler's armpit.

I've used a few other quick read thermometers. A few major things I noticed are great about this one in particular; the battery life, the ability to change the battery out, and the quick accuracy in which you get a reading. The waterproof coating makes it easy to sanitize, and you can clean it quickly with some soap and hot water. The display is also really nice, the color coded display lets you know at an instant if you're normal, above grade, or running a fever. It was able to catch a fever as it was starting, which led to being able to get medication in my system and rest before the chills and aches could really set in. It's smooth seamless, and the quickness of it would make it easy to test kids temperature readings without having to sit with it in their mouth for long. Overall a really great product I would gladly buy again!

This product works fine. You have to get used to it. Press the start button and it briefly lights up then it goes dark, then it shows the last temperature reading and then it displays LO, after placing under tongue it lights up to say its ready and then goes dark and then you can read the latest temperature. This sequence confused me and under constant bright lighting I was able to see exactly what it was doing. I intially gave it a bad rating. The only thing I would change is when it determines the actual latest temperature it stays lit for say 3 seconds showing that temperature but after going dark still displays that temperature and then after say 60 seconds whatever turns off to save on battery.

We've bought this thermometer twice now because it works (and our first one has been misplaced for too long!) It's fast while being pretty consistent and accurate, not an easy combination to come by. Every now and then I'll get an off reading, but just disregard it and take another temp. It's so quick that it's never problematic to run it 2-3 times to verify a temp. I can't recall if it said this in the instructions originally or if it's just something I noticed over time, but don't start to take a temp until the screen reads "Lo" if you want an accurate and quick reading.
