Legit antenna but check the specs...
When this antenna arrived, I quickly realized that it does not fit into any of my standard ham 3/8-24 mounts. Car mag mounts, Buddistick versa hub, photographic tripod mounts.... Nothing. The antenna is correctly described on the listing, but I failed to read the description before ordering. In the description, it clearly states that it is an M10 mount (1.5). If you are in North America, you will definitely need to purchase an adapter. So, this antenna is quite nice for the price. It won't hold up through strong winds, but it is a very affordable telescoping antenna for 20 meters and below. I had to order a 3/8-24 male to M10 1.5 female adapter from a company called Snakeclamp For $20 (with shipping). The adapter costs as much as the antenna. Still, it is much cheaper that some of the offerings from other companies. I wish this company could simply put a USA standard 3/8-24 thread on that thing. Jees... Another note. Amazon does offer a similar adapter for about $10, but it is non-conductive. So, read the reviews and find out what the adapter is made of! 73 ps... I give it 5 stars, because "it is what it says it is" and it is still a really affordable telescoping antenna for amateur radio.

Good antenna.
For a ham radio antenna, it doesnโt have the typical 3/8-24 threads so youโll need an adapter.

M10 what - it's an odd one that doesn't fit any known antenna bases.
It says 10mm but it's an strange thread pitch. I haven't been able to find a mount or base for this that fits because they all expect a different thread pitch. The recommended adapter doesn't work at all for this antenna because it's the wrong threading. Quality seems ok but I haven't been able to test it because nothing fits the threads on the bottom. Buy with caution - good luck finding a mount that fits.

Looks Like A Good Quality Antenna
Good quality build. The antenna arrived in good condition. Took awhile to get it here but not too long in transit. Used it only once and it worked flawlessly. Looking forward to future use as time goes by, but so far so good. Will issue follow up review as to its durability.

Best 20 meter vertical ever!
This replaces a similar whip that broke last year. Actually a little too long for 20 meters, I leave the top section in. With a counterpoise, SWR less than 2:1 across the whole band. Note that this has M10 thread, you will need an adapter to use it with 3/8-24 mounting gear, like a Buddipole.

Very good!
About a foot longer and significantly lighter than the MFJ-1979, which is no longer in production. These are also ~1/3 shorter when fully retracted and have about 10 inches less deflection when extended and held horizontal in the cantilever configuration, as compared to the MFJ.

Manufacturing flaws in the antenna components.
There are flaws in the manufacturing of these antennas. This is a replacement and it has defects. I would not use this in any type of rain.

Not a good crimp
Not a good crimp after about 5 insertions. The base can be rotated 0.5mm. Don't know yet if it will get worse over time and fall out, or if this is the worst it gets. It's probably easier to put a screw in it than to send it back and wait 3 weeks. Pictures of this product now show 2 crimps at the base so likely the replacement would have the same problem. HOgardenME is sending out different products. February order 2025 - no problems except shorter in length then in the description 4 crimps at base - 9.3oz - max length 189 inches May order 2025 - loose base 2 crimps at base - 9.0oz - max length 219 inches Picture: Top May order, Bottom February order.
