Superior timepiece
The only watch you'll ever need! This is the watch that started my gshock collection. I didnt realize it was an addiction but now I have about 10 gshocks and several other watches in my collection which is ironic considering my first statement. But this thing is tough! (As intended). I wear it while doing yard work, working on cars, swimming, and about everything really. It keeps good time and it just looks really cool and nostalgic. I couldn't imagine what kind of punishment one would have to put it through to actually break it. Its an amazing value for money and id recommend it to anyone

Great Watch
I had a Casio as my very first watch and it lasted forever and was eventually just replaced because I wanted something new. I've had a few watches over the last few decades and the last one was a $2500 Tag Heuer. After less than a decade of owning it and replacing the battery almost annually, it just quit keeping time and I as told that they need to be "serviced" at the factory in Europe every 5 to 10 years at the owner's expense. I was disgusted. My Casio cost a fraction of that and lasted decades before I gave it away. I had the jeweler remove the battery from the Tag so that it wouldn't leak and I mothballed the watch thinking maybe my son would want to get it restored someday. I wasted no time shopping for a Casio. The DW5600UE-1V had that classic G-Shock look from my childhood in the 80s and the price was irresistible. I've had it for 18 months now and it is going strong! It has all of the functions that I need. I have no complaints. The band is holding up nicely. No cracks. Don't waste your time with "nice" watches. If the G-Shock is good enough for the Navy SEALs, then what else matters really?

fantastic product
my favorite watch till the band broke, I purchased a replacement Casio band and had to go to two different jewelers to find a person that could put the new band on (the way it is made, it's a really tight fit.) but the watch itself is awesome. easy to read, has just enough functions, great backlight and just the right size.

Great watch, great investment of money.
I consider this g shock the direct evolution of my f 91 w and i really like how good it looks, strenght, comfort, cost nothing and simplicty of use, i also have another g shok in "woodland" camo but you need to be a freaking engineer to make it work unlike this one right here.

Good, but band was small
I bought this watch along with the less expensive (but larger) AE-1600H to compare and see which one I liked. I have kept them both. The original watch band for the G-Shock is much nicer feeling that the original one for the AE-1600H, but it's short for me, I am nearly using the last hole and I wouldn't consider myself to have huge wrists. I have since replaced the original band to a velcro style which is fits me better. I do like the quality feel of the G-Shock and features, the backlight is better too, but the light button is not as easy as it is on the AE-1600H which is large and right on the front compared to this one which is on the side. Since it's smaller the G-Shock is more difficult to read for me. Im keeping both watches as they have good value and not too expensive.

Casio G-Shock DW-5600E
I've been an avid watch collector my entire life, but it wasn't until the past year or so that I've been seriously bitten by the "watch collector" bug. I realized that I didn't have a digital in my collection, and it just so happened that I had also been looking for a beater watch, something to just wear around casually. I always knew the G-Shocks had a big following, so I decided to hop on the bandwagon and I settled on the DW-5600. I chose this watch because, to me, it looks the most "classic" of the G-Shock line. I didn't really care about Solar or Atomic capabilities, which also helped out on the price. On Amazon's end, they did an adequate job. The watch arrived when it was supposed to, but the box was a little beat-up when I got it. The packaging wasn't all that great, either, because inside the box only one single "air-bag" protected the item. I was a little disappointed in the packaging of the watch itself. It didn't come in one of those cool gray tins that you see online, or even one of the bigger square black and red G-Shock boxes. Instead, the watch was packaged in a small rectangular box containing a plastic stand with the watch on it and the module book folded in half and stuffed underneath. Not a big deal, but a little neater package would be nice. Now, onto the watch itself. When I opened the box, I was surprised at just how nice it looks. Really, the watch looks much better in person that it does in any of the photographs I've seen. Like I mentioned above, the watch has a very classic digital look, with a very simple, rugged, "no-frills" design. The band is resin, and at first glance doesn't really look that comfortable. However, once you put it on, it feels nice and smooth on your skin. The watch is also incredibly light (60g, according to Casio's website), so much so that I barely even notice it's there. The build quality feels very solid, and I have the feeling that the watch could withstand a pretty tough beating. The case has a Casio branded metal plate on the backside and a metal buckle on the band. The readout has a positive display and isn't clogged up with useless information, so it's very easy to read. You've got the day and date on top, and time on the bottom. The backlight is nice and bright, although I wish it would stay illuminated for longer than two seconds. The four buttons are located on each corner of the case and I had no problem pressing any of them except for the "adjust" button, which is recessed so you don't accidentally bump it and reset the watch. This is my biggest complaint about the watch, seeing how sometimes I have to take the watch off just press the adjust button. But, luckily you don't have to use it that often, so it's not a deal-breaker. As for the features of the watch, they're all pretty standard. There's no barometric pressure gauge, tide readouts, or moon-phase indicators, just the standard features. Pressing the lower left button lets you scroll through the watches four modes: Time, alarm, countdown, and stop-watch. These modes are self-explanatory, and the time is viewable in each mode. The watch gives a resounding "beep" when changing modes, and a slightly higher-pitched chirp when returning to time mode. The volume on the alarm is adequate. I consider myself to be a heavy sleeper, and the alarm woke me up just fine. Overall, the Casio G-Shock DW-5600E is a solid watch. It's classic design, sturdy construction, and refreshingly basic features make it a must-have digital in any collection, especially G-Shock enthusiasts. And, at just over $40, it's an incredible value. 4.5/5 stars

A review after wearing consistently for 6 years
I purchased this watch for myself in 2020 to use at work in the law enforcement field. After being consistently used almost daily for 6 years, this watch has not had any issues and does not show wear and tear easily on the surface material. No battery issues, has been submerged, scraped against objects, covered in dirt and I can just clean it up and keep wearing it. I love the tactical look, it is lightweight and fits well. I would recommend this watch for anyone looking for a reliable watch that will withstand anything.

Great and durable work watch
I work in the rain/water both day/night. This thing can keep up. I didn’t really like watches but now I can’t go without it. It’s pretty comfortable but WILL pull your arm hair during the break in period. It’s not unbearable though. The glass for the screen is super tough, I’ve had all kinds of stuff hit it without a scratch. It has a timer, stopwatch, alarm, civilian time, military time, date, day of the week, and a light for night time. If you have trouble setting it up there are some helpful videos on YouTube.

Great watch
This is a brilliant tough workhorse of a watch with a retro style. I received the newer DW5600UE version with the LED backlight not the older 5600E with the EL yellowish light. The UE version is usually £20-30 more. Very pleased.

Good watch
I recently got the Casio G-Shock and I’m really impressed! It feels super tough and well-built — exactly what you expect from a G-Shock. The design is classic and stylish enough to wear every day, but also rugged enough for outdoor activities and sports. The timekeeping is accurate, the display is easy to read, and I love that it’s shock-resistant and durable. Overall, it’s a reliable watch that’s worth the price and has become my go-to for daily wear. Definitely a great purchase!
