Lionel North Pole Central Freight Toy Train Set for Kids 4+

My son(6) absolutely LOVES his gift from Santa! He LOVES trains and wrote a letter to Santa he wanted a train set. I got the blue tooth train which took a bit to connect but got it working just fine. I have a samsung galaxy. Probably going to order the remote so I can have my phone back lol. The voice command does work (I see some people couldn't get it to work) just click it and say "All aboard" and the train starts moving. You can tell it to stop, reverse, increase speed. Train stays on the track just fine so far. He's been playing with it for hours. I ordered extra tracks and a few Y tracks and they just came today so super excited to make a very large track! I wish I could turn down the volume on the train tho, as much as he's been playing with it, the noise is a bit annoying after a while lol. Quality is great. I had one very similar when I was his age and still have it and it still works, we usually use it under the Christmas tree. Anyway, the steam is a little meh but my son still loves it. Just a few drops of water and it makes a tiny vapor cloud. It's cute. I read the vapor is created by the vibration of the train so if you put the water in and it doesn't vapor, run the train a bit and it will eventually. Great buy! He's happy so I'm happy. I got the protection plan just incase.

Good quality and great price. Great for a kid getting into collecting Lionel but not ready for the smaller gauge models yet.

⭐ 0/5 – Completely Defective and Unusable Right Out of the Box I’m extremely disappointed. This toy train didn’t work at all because the battery compartment was manufactured incorrectly — the battery receptors/spring contacts were installed backwards and misaligned, making it physically impossible to insert the batteries properly. Because of this, the train could not power on even once. For a children’s toy, especially one that requires batteries, this is a huge quality-control failure. I spent way too long trying to troubleshoot before realizing the internal design was wrong from the factory. This should never have passed inspection. I would like a replacement immediately (or a refund) for a product that was literally unusable the moment I opened it. Very frustrating experience and my child was disappointed.

I'm impressed with the quality of this train for the cost! Well made, love the sound effects. Big hit with my 2 year old - almost too much so... he wants to touch it and has thrown it a couple times haha. Hasn't broken yet. Probably best for ages 3 and up! It does need to be on level ground, so it's hard to set up underneath the tree if you have a tree skirt or a rug.

Ideal Christmas train. Very good quality, size, function and look. Very satisfied overall.

Bought for a 4 yr old. After an easy set up, he has spent hours playing with it. No problems.

I bought the train after watching several positive video reviews. I mistakenly assumed that the remote was included. It is not included in the $70 train kit. A universal Lionel remote costs an additional $64. I appreciate that the train isn’t as obnoxiously loud as the one that it is replacing. My 3 and 5 year old love it. I am ordering the remote because I’m not ready to hand my phone over to my 3 year old.

The train is beautiful and looks and sounds great under the tree. However, the box did not come with the 8 pieces of straight track like advertised. And when I went to download the app to use the Bluetooth feature, it said it can't be added because it was made for an older version of androids. Update your app!!
