It depends on the APP you use to program the tags. Once locked, it will be read-only, you will no longer be able to edit and reset it. Are these compatible with HP officejet printers?

You would need to use a printer that can accommodate a card tray for printing. I know some models of Canon and Epson printers have the option to use a card tray but I don't think HP has that option with their Officejet line.
