I’ve been using the Raw Essentials Bacne Control Body Wash for a while now and honestly, I really like it. It has this nice cooling effect (thanks to menthol) that makes every shower feel refreshing, especially after a workout. My skin actually feels clean and fresh after every wash, without that tight, dry feeling some other washes give. What I also like is that it’s not just about the “feel good” part — it actually has 2% salicylic acid, which is great for keeping pores clear and helping with bacne. There’s also 1% niacinamide, which keeps the skin calm and moisturized, so it doesn’t get too harsh even though it’s exfoliating. They’ve added Vitamin E and panthenol too, which balance things out and prevent dryness. Another plus is that it’s SLS- and paraben-free, so it feels gentler on the skin compared to typical body washes. The “ocean breeze” scent is light and fresh, not overpowering. Overall, it does what it says — leaves me feeling fresh, cool, and actually helps with body acne over time. Definitely one of the better bacne control washes I’ve tried.

I’ve been using this body wash for three months, and I really enjoy the freshness it provides. While it didn’t completely resolve my bacne issue, it’s still the best body wash I’ve used in terms of scent—it has a lovely, refreshing fragrance. Plus, it doesn’t dry out my skin, which is a big plus.

Here’s a breakdown of the ingredients you listed. I’ll point out any potential concerns: 1. Sodium Laurel Sarcosinate - Often confused with SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate), this is a milder surfactant. While generally considered safe, it may cause irritation for those with sensitive skin. 2. Acrylate Copolymer - A plastic-based thickener. While safe in skincare, it is not environmentally friendly as it can contribute to microplastics in water. 3. Salicylic Acid - Generally safe and beneficial for acne-prone skin, but overuse can cause dryness or irritation. 4. Sodium Hydroxide - Used to adjust pH; in large amounts, it can be very caustic. In small concentrations (as in skincare), it’s safe. 5. Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Sorbate - Both are preservatives. While safe in skincare, some individuals with very sensitive skin may develop mild irritation. 6. Menthol - Can provide a cooling sensation, but it can be irritating for sensitive skin, especially on broken or inflamed skin. 7. Sodium Benzotriazole - A corrosion inhibitor; this is unusual in body care and raises a red flag as it can be irritating and has potential toxicity concerns. 8. Butyl Phenol Sulfonate and Tributyl Citrate - Both are additives and stabilizers that may cause skin irritation for some people. Long-term exposure could be concerning due to their synthetic nature. 9. CI-42051 - This is a synthetic blue dye, also known as "Blue 1." While approved for use in cosmetics, it can cause allergic reactions or irritation in some individuals. Key Concerns: Sodium Benzotriazole: Uncommon in personal care; it raises potential toxicity concerns. Butyl Phenol Sulfonate & Tributyl Citrate: These can be irritating and are not ideal for sensitive skin. CI-42051 (Blue 1): Potential irritant for sensitive skin or those with dye allergies. If you have sensitive skin, you might want to avoid this product. If you experience irritation, discontinue use.
