Dash Cam Pro As Seen On TV Black Portable HD Video/Audio Recorder

I really admire this camera. I can be very clear and panoramic during the day. I took it with me to Africa and it performed VERY well. I downloaded several of the videos especially for the items we traveled on the highways in the rural area. My only disappointment is the poor night vision. I wish it could be better but in any case, I am satisfied with the day view. The playback is not good as it goes very fast then stop but you get all that were recorded.

The Good: It works. Records audio much better than video. Lighter USB cable fairly long and can be routed around the dashboard. The Bad: This camera creates extremely huge and extremely low quality files. 15 minute footage results in 1.9-2.1 GB file. This is raw JPG motion picture codec. So, if you insert 32gb SD card (not tested) you will barely get 3.5-4 hours of run time. The 720 resolution seems to be an up scaled lower resolution. My other 480 cam records a much much better video in mp4 format. The Ugly: This camera has an extremely narrow angle of view. I estimated it to be about 20 degrees. My phone has 58 degrees and you have to stand back about 3x the distance to capture the same width with this camera. When placed below the rear view mirror you can't even see both corners of the front of the hood. With this camera, you will have to compromise between seeing the license plates or seeing the red light above you. You can't see both when stopped at the intersection. This camera is only good for capturing a head on collision. If someone swipes you from the side or runs in to you from the 4 way stop or a red light you wont be able to see them coming at you on this camera. The auto-off feature is intermittent, at best. If you set it on, you will most likely run the battery down, since it will keep recording after you leave, and die in about 10 minutes. This may be the reason why some reviewers had issues with dead batteries. The USB interface maximum speed is about 900kb/s. I am assuming its USB1. Therefore, getting the footage off the camera, with huge files, is another headache. I figured out how to set the timestamp, but I won't tell anyone how to do it. I could live with lower quality video, and would have rated this camera at least 3 stars, but the very narrow angle of view killed it. Some people commented that this camera is great for the price and for what it is. I guess people like toys. For practical use, I don't see any value in this camera, sorry.

Placed on rear window with screen facing outside. Yep, facing out ! People keep their distance once they see the screen especially at night. I will get a higher quality dash cams later for our other vehicles. The field of view is narrow & I had to watch youtube videos on how to set it up and use. Get an sd card since none are included. Set up is simple. Battery life is very short. Night mode has to be manually engaged with power button. For price I didn't expect movie quality video. I just wanted to keep bumper humpers at bay. Some people just will not pass, even on 4 lane highways. I usually drive 3 to 4 pmh over speed limit & let cars pass when safe to do so. Still some people are just dangerous. I will install dash cam bumper/window stickers/magnets on all my vehicles since I notice people stay away from vehicles with those items applied.

I bought this thinking it'd be a good tool to prove to law officials if an accident was my fault etc. This product is awful. It did ship quickly however that was the best feature in this entire purchase. The instructions were unclear on the battery and if it needed to be inserted at all times or only when removed from the charger. The top of the camera can't slide into position when the battery is on. Whenever the camera is turned off by any means being still or turning ff the ignition, the next time you turn it on every setting you placed will be reset back to default. The picture is clear enough to get the job done(When it doesn't randomly shut off), however the camera could not detect the SD card which defeats the whole purpose of having the dash cam. The whole product is a scam. Overall: -Quick Shipping -Mediocre Picture -Failing SD card detector -Settings reset to default whenever it shuts off -It flickers off randomly -The battery instructions are unclear -The Lid won't close when battery is inserted -Flimsy -Rattles while driving -Unstable, ends up shifting the picture over bumps(It isn't secure to the base even on the tightest setting) -Overall bad product/feels like a scam

The dash cam is nice for the money but the instructions are very veg and does not explain how to operate properly.

Everyone in my family that has a car has one of these cameras. Easy to install and operate. Little pricey in my opinion.

You get what you pay for. Decent product. It’s reliable but you have to clear all footage before every ride (depending on size of SD) and make sure it’s recording, as there is no clear signal other than a small light on the screen that cannot be seen while driving. Film quality is not great but enough to prove liability without doubts.

Opened package everything looked good after pluging in device SIM chip failed to operate and aknowledged it's self in the device to record information please send me a replacement SIM card seeing the other ones obviously damaged by electrical shock from static electricity while being packed thank you

I got this for my parents, who are less than tech savvy. So its a good, simple camera that doesn't require the use of a smart phone with data. They really liked it.
