DjuiinoStar Heavy Duty Gyroscope (Solid Stainless Steel Rotor): Initial Speed 8,000 RPM, Sturdy and Stable; Provides Very Good Gaming Experience; High-End Office Toy, Addictive Science Gear DG-5PRO-01

This is a great gyroscope! The mass of its wheel gives it tremendous spend time and great stability. Like all open caged gyroscopes this is prone to damage if dropped on a hard surface. I do not let my young grandchildren play with this because they do not have the dexterity needed to prevent dropping it. I use this and my other open gyroscopes on a plate. I don’t start the gyroscope very high above the plate so if it’s dropped, it doesn’t fall very far. When it lands on the plate, it usually keeps spinning and one can pick it up and set it back on its stand or other objects such as a pencil tip or a taught string. I like this gyroscope a lot!

I got this as a gift for my son, who was studying physics in college. It has a nice weight to it and seems well made. There is no assembly required. There is a small learning curve when wrapping and pulling the string, but once you get the hang of it, it is easy to get a good spin. I don’t know what functional purpose it serves, but it was fun!

I have always wanted one of these and this one is nice. A little pricey but overall works great. The only thing is putting the winding string in the hole. It isn't as easy as it looks in the video. But with a little practice seems to be doing better now. I would recommend this gyroscope as a gift because it is very nice. Has nice weight to it and spins a long. I would give it 4 stars overall.

The DjuiinoStar Heavy Duty Gyroscope is an exceptional STEM toy that combines education with fun. Its solid stainless steel rotor, capable of reaching an impressive 8,000 RPM, offers a hands-on demonstration of physics principles like angular momentum and gyroscopic stability. The toy's sturdy construction ensures durability, making it ideal for both enthusiastic children and curious adults. This gyroscope not only captivates with its high-speed performance but also serves as an engaging tool for learning and exploration in science and engineering.

I have been testing this device for a few days and it has worked reasonably well. Up to this moment I am satisfied with this purchase which I will use for coming lectures on physics at university level. Update: The gyro has been working consistently well. Just one advice, based on my experience, be aware about the little screws that attach the external frame, they get loose after a while and could fall off. In this case it turns useful to have some little screwdriver at hand to reattach them.
