The wood baren is light and moves easily across different types of papers on my Gel plates. I took a chance on it when it only had a couple of reviews, and I’m glad I did. I had refrained from getting a baren because of the prices but this one works well, the wood is beautiful, and the price is great!

Works as expected, would purchase again

When I have been using pressure to get a stamp to print firmly on paper, I have been using what some card makers call a 'hocky puck' with a knob to hold on to. This is about 1.5" bigger and it has a much more convenient handle to hold on to. I did notice that this wood baren seemed to have some drag on it compared to the plastic one I had been using that had a felt type piece on the bottom that gave it a smoother motion. So far I have only used this in conjunction with my stamping set up that you hold the paper in place with magnets and the stamps are on the acrylic cover. Some of the stamps did not want to print the stamps all the way, but with multiple tries, all but one worked out. Because of how this baren is built, it didn't hurt my hands or wrists to put pressure on the stamps. I will be using it in other situations to see how it will work. Things like this, you have to learn how to use it by using it. I have plenty of stamps to try it on as well as other assorted craft items. I appreciate the opportunity to try this out. Thank you.

This was the perfect thing I needed for my art class! Great quality, and it looks great. Definitely doesn’t feel cheap.

This design just doesn’t fit my style of printing. the Baren is flat as advertised, but this means you need to stay very vertical on top of the print to avoid tearing the paper or creating unwanted edge marks. Do use a piece of tracing paper or wax paper on top of your print for better results and smoother rubbing.

I'm so glad I spent the money and got the wooden one. It's very easy to clean and wipe off the ink and it has a nice weight to it.

All constructed. Does the job. As advertised.
