As an recent convert to encaustic painting, these oil sticks offer an incredible and easy way to sketch color onto a work. I have also worked using a pallatte knife. Colors are wonderfully saturated, the opaques are rich, the translucent colors are rich and vibrant. I have also used these oil sticks in some of my multi media work. They create an interesting spread when used on transfer paper (which I transfer on to paper, and cannot vouch as to how they work on fabric or other media). I bought the two sets Opaque and Translucent simply to test them. I'm hooked. I will continue to buy the colors I work with.

Got these recently and love them! I have tried several brands of oil bars and oil sticks with my art so I figured I would give them a try-- excellent. My number one concern when buying oil bars or any painting medium is I love color! I also sell my art and need to ship it so I have found the drying time for some oil based art materials to be an issue. So far I'm happy with these. I used them last week and some parts are still tacky to the touch, but they are drying. I plan to order more colors!

I use these pigments sticks over acrylic paints as well as oil paints. The pigment sticks are easy to use, blend beautifully and can be used with cold wax.

I know that R&F products have a good reputation so I was surprised when it was rather difficult to use them. The thick film or whatever it is gets in the way of using them easily. I tried peeling it off and it doeant come off. It is not the plastic that that they are packaged in the peels off of the top part. So if I am doing something wrong somebody let me know.

I like this product very much. The sticks are much easier to use than the tube paint. Colors are easy to apply. I hope to add more colors to my set.

really love the RF paint sticks. They go on smooth as butter and have a silky consistency. I love the plastic case they come in. They come in handy for storing. I do not like the new paper packs. They are packaging them in since I bought this one. R&F make really great high-quality products but they are extremely expensive. Would love to try more colors but can’t afford them. I wish they would make the oil stick in a smaller size and lower price.
