I had one bathroom in the house that was smelling increasingly "earthy" over a period of weeks. The smell progressed to being an "earthy with a ting of uric" smell and I happened to break out in hives during that time period and could not identify a cause (no change in food, cleaning products, or medicine). Knowing I've had a previous sensitivity with reaction to mold in a home before, I thought it would be wise to test the room for spores even though I visually could not see any sign of it. I read reviews on several test kits available on Amazon. They seemed fairly equal in price, function, and reviews/ratings. I was having a difficult time choosing one over another until I read one review in particular for this kit. The reviewer mentioned emailing pictures of their petri dish specimens to a product support address and getting a quick identification response. SOLD! I immediately placed my order. The kit was received quickly. It was packaged very well, ensuring the petri dishes were not contaminated. The instructions were well written in a larger format, organized, and easy to follow. The mold identification portion of the booklet had clear pictures with descriptions, an explanation of where the mold is typically found, under what conditions it grows, and the potential health impacts. The instructions and options for mold remediation/removal/prevention were also well written. I placed 3 of the 6 uncovered dishes in the bathroom with the door closed for an hour. Gathered each one, placed and sealed the lids with tape, labeling each with date and location. They were then put in a dark corner of my office (the warmest room in the house) where they sat untouched for a few days. When I finally look at them, they had several varieties of mold growing. Some I could identify with the book, others I could not. I sent an email off with photos of my spotted, fuzzy dishes asking for help. Within 48 hours I had a very professionally written pdf response using my photos with an ID and explanation of each mold type found on the petri dish, for all three dishes ... AT NO EXTRA COST. Amazing easy, fast, and helpful! I'm 100% happy with this product and service. The peace of mind and support is priceless I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TEST KIT.

The tests worked exactly as described and was so easy to use. We followed the instructions and the mold started growing just as the booklet described. Honestly, I didn't even try to guess at what each of the different kinds they were. It's not that the booklet isn't clear, it's that I didn't feel educated enough to know for sure I was right. That's why it's so perfect that the experts are able to let you know for sure. The booklet seemed a little hesitant about the air test, which is what I needed to test in the six places. I placed the plates in an as-enclosed area as I could find and they worked with no problems. Possibly the air is just so saturated it worked for us, but if air is your issue, I would *definitely* give this product a try. It's a little freaky to suddenly see exactly what you're breathing. I sent the photos as instructed to the company and they responded the same day with an identification report that is perfect for sending to the landlord. I can't recommend this product more if you're concerned about mold.

This kit came with detailed instructions and everything you need to test for mold in multiple locations. Most of the cultures were easy to identify. The one culture that we were not sure of was identified with help from the folks at Kayenqo.

This a wonderful, cost efficient option to find out if you have mold in your home. The instructions regarding proper testing are very clear and it comes with a booklet of popular molds to try and identify what you have growing in your Petri dishes. If you are unsure what you see, you just email the pictures and get a full PDF of the results emailed back to you. I submitted the pictures to the email provided in the booklet and was sent a full description of what was growing on the plates extremely quick! I highly recommend purchasing this if you have any mold concerns or if you’re just curious about what is present in your home. Great company!

This product is great to learn what is growing inside your home. If you are not sure about your results, contacting the lab provides the answers to your questions. I’m very happy with what I have learned.

The kit was very easy to use. I was unsure about the types of mold in a couple of the samples, so I emailed photos of the petri dishes to the company. Within less than 24 hours, I had a detailed report about the types of mold present in the samples. Very happy with this test kit! A+

This was such an easy way to get peace of mind! You simply leave the little containers out opened for an hour in the location that you want to test the air (or swipe a spot if you want a surface test). Then close them up and put in sealed plastic bags (provided) somewhere warm and dark. We put them in our towel drawer under some towels. Then 4-5 days later take them out and you can compare them to pictures or send an email and get a response it says within 3 days. We sent our email on a Sunday morning and the next time I checked my email (5 something AM) Monday morning a response was already in my inbox! I was so impressed with this especially for the low cost!
