Great product
Enough product to rewax my coat every year for next five years! This dressing was easy to apply to my elderly Lewis Creek wax cotton coat. The coat looks so much better. Id suggest applying the dressing in spring or summer so the coat can be aired outside after applying dressing. The smell at first is rather strong.

Barbour jacket refurbish.
First time redoing my coat. Followed the instructions, made my jacket new again after 5 years. It had developed some white marks on the sleeve. This dressing cleaned them up now gone! This is a must have product for every Barbour jacket owner. Seems. Bit expensive, but is worth the money.

Soft a supple, Use a iron not a hair dryer for excellent results
I purchased this instead of the Otter wax as I felt the reviews were better. Otter wax at 16oz is the same price as this Barbour at 8oz which I'm not happy but wanted to try the Babour..Did a light weight 100% cotton jacket following instructions on the can using a cotton rolled up sock to apply. It worked but feel a brush would do a better job with less mess regardless of their instructions. Also tried the hair dryer and or heat gun to evenly distribute the wax and found the ideal absolute best way to do this was with a old iron ,non steam I used to wax my skis with..This method did a excellent job of letting it penetrate evenly and gave it a great result..The jacket turned out very soft and supple with plenty of wax impregnated throughout with a single application. I did not get the crinkle type patina some like as by looking at it you would not know it is a waxed jacket but I believe I could do another application to get those results or perhaps the shine like a Filson..Do The Iron in method for excellent results..Also a brush on method should work fine as using a cotton applicator to rub it in seams useless as the final application of a heat source is what really allows this to penetrate regardless..1 can did a below waist light weight jacket and I used it kind of sparingly..To be sure get 2 cans to do an average size coat or garment. Barbour is not cheap for 8oz but the excellent results are a finish which is soft and not stiff with one application at least my result..I will try the Otter wax next before I pay double for this again..

A must have for your Barbour jacket but...
Everyone loves the look of a well-waxed Barbour jacket, but most don't love the effort that goes into treating the wax coating. Well, this is the price of ownership: you will either do it yourself or you'll pay someone a not insignificant amount of money to do it for you. I have three Barbour jackets so doing it myself makes the most sense. I'm not sure what makes this wax better than other canvas treatments but the jackets are too expensive to experiment with so I opt for the original. Getting the wax up to temperature takes a bit of time but once it's hot, application is easy. At times, almost too easy. In fact it's easy to put too much on and then it becomes hard to get the excess off. Work slowly with only a little of the melted wax at a time. I suggest doing this in the high heat of summer since its easy then to hang the freshly treated jacket outside in the sun which really helps melt the wax further into the canvas so it doesn't rub off on your car's interior or other jackets in our closet. It's a necessity if you want to maintain your jacket over its lifetime. Why only 4 stars? I think its a little finicky to work with and it's a little expensive. But the truth is that I will order another can or two next time I need it. Again, it's a must have with your Barbour, but you just have to be patient while applying it.

Good if done right
Works great, but it’s a process to do it right. I had a Barbour coat that went thru the washer/dryer (very bad idea) that was bone dry. This can had more than enough wax for multiple coats that left it very saturated. A few process tips: Plan to spend 2 to 3 hours on the project. Follow the instructions to warm up the wax in a pan of water on low heat on your stove. You need to leave it in the water with the stove on the entire time so it does not harden back up. Wait for the wax to completely melt (it will be totally clear) which takes about 30 minutes. Use a small rag or sponge to apply, working in small sections. Wear plastic gloves, you are going to get wax all over your hands. You definitely want to use a hair dryer or heat gun to finish the application. It totally melts the wax onto the jacket and allows it to soak in. Two or three light coats, using the heat gun in between each, is better than one thick coat. I found it easier to apply the wax while on a flat surface and then apply the heat to it while on a hanger. None of this is hard but it’s a bit messy and it takes a while to do it right!
