AU1210MA Professional Grade High Security 12-Sheet Micro-Cut Paper/CD and Credit Card/ 60 Minutes Continuous Run Time Shredder

The last couple of days I've been cleaning out! Lots of old account statements, bills, tax returns and other files that needed to go. Although I've had this shredder for over two years, this is the first real test I have given it. It took on everything I threw at it and did it quietly with seemingly no strain at all. It says it's rated for twelve sheets at a time. I had a lot to shred and was pushing it, not really counting pages. There were plenty of times I know I was feeding it beyond its twelve page rating. Didn't heat up, didn't stop, and didn't even slow down. This machine would probably not be suitable for a business environment, mostly because with multiple users, the bin would require too frequent emptying. But for a one or two person home office, it's perfect.

Only had it a few hours. Having saved lots of personal info I didn't want to trash without shredding since my old machine died. I've gone thru enough for two bins. So far so good. I haven't tried more than 10 sheets. It slows a bit on 8 or more, but works. I'll likely keep my feeds to 6 sheets just to make it easy. Ran it practically non-stop for 30 minutes twice and no issues. Does a real nice job cross-cut shredding. Seems to match its P4 claims on shredding sizes. Shredding unit itself is quite heavy. It rolls easily on the wheels it comes with though they are on the small side. After the first bin I oiled it and it seemed quieter. Maybe it needs oiling a bit when you first get it. It is fairly quiet in any case when running. Cord is nice and long. I do think the lower part of the unit and paper bin are on the flimsy side. All a snapped together affair and the bin has some grooves/wheels to guide it in and out, but I wonder how well it will lock in place with more use. And you'll want to handle it with care as it flexes just taking it in and out and handling to empty the paper. Seem like for the price this plastic part could have been a millimeter thicker and more robust. I haven't tried credit cards or CDs. I'll keep staples and paper clips out of it. Why abuse your machine? I usually use some small bolt cutters on credit cards. Easy to snip into pieces. I'll just shred paper I think. Pretty happy, it is more powerful and shreds much smaller than my old cheap machine from Office Depot.

This is an AWESOME shredder. It is very quiet, makes very small shreds and it really shreds CD/DVD discs. Every other shredder just cuts them into a few pieces, but this one absolutely shreds them into pixie dust! Works extremely well, doesn’t jam and has a nice catch bin. Absolutely worth the price.

This Aurora shredder is very well designed. The micro-cut style provides great security, and the motor is very quiet. The basket is large and very easy to empty making shredding papers less unpleasant. One of the best features is that it is on wheels, so it is easy to roll out of the way into the closet when not in use. Hopefully, I won't let the pile of papers to be shred build up so much. I can't yet speak to its durability, but I'm optimistic about it. I highly recommend.

Does a good job of rendering documents irretrievable. At one point I ran the shredder for 15 minutes continuously shredding some old documentation without a problem. Shredding is relatively quiet, and the basket holds quite a bit of shredded material. In one instance I did manage to choke the feed with too many pages. The system recognized the overload, halted, and backed the pages back out automatically before I could hit the reverse button. Have not had occasion to shred a CD or credit cards. System says it can handle staples and small paperclips, but everything I've run through has been without metal fasteners (and probably never will have metal fasteners as a general rule). Instructions say to not shred window or insulated envelopes, continuous forms, newsprint, bound pages, transparencies, laminated documents, cardboard, items with adhesives, or plastic (credit cards and CD's are ok). Our recycler wants shredded documents bagged. A full basket can be a bit awkward to empty into a bag, and some of the document flakes leaked out the hole in the back of the basket till I positioned my hand over the hole when emptying. The first delivery of my shredder from Amazon was broken, and did not include the basket portion, just the cover (pretty sure it didn't come from the factory that way). The basket does not seem sturdy, like it can handle a lot of abuse. For my first delivery, I'm guessing someone returned a broken shredder and Amazon sent it back out to me. Replacement shredder seems complete, and works just fine. Picture shows basket, cover, hole, and some shredded documents.

The best shredder I have ever bought! It can manage a significant amount of paper without overheating and is designed for efficiency. It is also very quiet. I also like the "micro" cut, so the pieces are much smaller than the cross-cut shreds. It is the perfect shredder. I just got it, so I hope the quality is there to last me a long time. If I encounter problems with it over the next year, I will update this rating.

Unfortunately i am so used to products advertised on the international amazon sites having 110-240 auto switching power supply. I didn’t expect that Amazon would advertise, take payment and ship a product that is INCOMPATIBLE in the country whose amazon site i was shopping (UAE). And upon arrival i read the manual which says nothing about voltage limits. But upon receipt after reading the manual thoroughly I plugged the shredder in and POP BOOM sizzle - thats the end of my shredder. $200 plus wasted in 2 seconds. Not happy!!!!

Buena trituradora, acepta gran cantidad de papeles y dura un buen rato sin calentarse, los papeles salen en pedacitos chiquititos, lo que ayuda a la confidencialidad y el objetivo de trituras, aparte aguanta todo tipo de material desde discos CDs, tarjetas tipo departamentales o bancarias, cartón, lo que lo hace ideal para casa, silenciosa y padrísima, solo es un poco difícil de limpiar y cuando se traba es complicado que te devuelva el papel atorado; aun así ,es un excelente artículo calidad precio.

This is by far the best shredder we have ever purchased. The lower level type (cheaper ones) would stop working after a lot of shredding. The small ones do have their limitations. This machine has a good basket size, shreds paper into very small pieces, have an automatic feeder which is great, and takes quite a few sheet of paper at a time. We usually did about 6 sheets at a time as the paper we use is quite thick (states it can do 12). Its not very noisy... its a shredder so of course there is some level of noise. Have used it multiple times now and ran it close to an hour each time we used it and no jamming, overheating or stopping. Very good product and would highly recommend. (we are also applying the oil (vegetable oil) to the shredder blades as recommended in the instructions, to ensure we properly maintain it).

A mighty and bold shredder it has shown itself to be. It has handle onslaught after onslaught of shredding, where other less worthy shredders would collapse at even the sight of such amounts of paper. None have taken on anywhere near the amount of papers and survived. Not only has it survived but it has thrived, not once did it hold back or get stuck, even when pushed beyond it's official capabilities. Even without yet receiving a single oil replenishment it has held steadfast, not even with a single jam. This beast of a machine is what all shredders need to aspire to, if they only could it would make the world a much better place. Shredding would be solved once and for all. All hail to this mighty shredder, it has done its job with incredible excellence and I would recommend it in all your empires without a seconds thought.

El precio es algo elevado respecto de otras marcas, pero lo justifica su desempeño, para mí ha sido la mejor opción, ya tuve en casa otra de otra marca y más pequeña y la verdad era un fastidio cada 10 minutos tener que frenar la destrucción de papeles para esperar que se enfriara. Con este equipo logro terminar más rápido sin tener que esperar. Satisfecho con mi comprar.
