Sanford Prismacolor Col-Erase Erasable Colored Pencils, 12-Count

I'm so glad these pencils are finally available at a somewhat affordable price in India, I've been waiting to buy these for ages. I'd recommend purchasing this set over single color sets since the price is comparable and if you're trying these out for the first time and don't know which color you'd prefer personally, having a few options is convenient. I really like the brown and red shades and purple is also surprisingly very nice under markers. Yes, the yellow and black options aren't the best,but they still might be useful under some circumstances. As far as the product is concerned, these are simply put the best sketching pencils available. Period. They are a delight to draw with and have a bunch of advantages over normal graphite pencils, a few being no smudging, slightly toothier texture (which I personally love), color choices(YAY!) etc. Graphite pencils have their own charm but for a lot of artists/illustrators who use mediums like watercolors, markers or even gouache, graphite is a nightmare to paint over as the graphite gets picked up by the pigments very easily. Yes, these aren't completely erasable, but that's when compared to graphite. When used by a light hand they do erase sufficiently. Most artists prefer to let a light layer sketched with these stay under the final color. They do blend under alcohol markers which can be a desirable effect. Personally, I enjoy the look of an illustration with a light sketch layer under it visible. Please don't be misled by other reviews by people who don't understand its purpose. These are not for children and is used by professional artists/illustrators all over the world. It's appalling that these have a low rating here, which is one of the highest rated products everywhere else. There is a reason these pencils are so highly sought after, they are truly, that good. Also, these are mainly for sketching purposes, pencils like polychromos etc. are for coloring purposes. When products are used for their intended purposes, no complaints arise. All in all, I'd happily recommend these to everyone, 10/10 no doubts.

Genuine product. Erases well. I use them for my initial sketches under watercolors, copics, acrylics, gouache. Graphite pencils tend to mussy my art when I add medium on top of it.

Don't erase completely but serve the purpose well. Nice selection of colours, good for watercolour under sketching and coloured sketches. They dissolve completely under Copics so great for lineless Copic marker drawings!

Finally these pencils are available in the Indian Market. Only wish that they didn't include black and yellow pencils. Black being quite like a regular lead pencil. And yellow being too light. Other pencils are fine. Great for underdrawings for illustrations. Lines erase well. The eraser on the back of the pencils are good. Lead is thick compared to a normal pencil. Quality pencils

these pencils are not suited for children to color the book. they are used mainly by traditional animators or character artist. they are designed for different kind of usage , easy to erase, non-smudge suitable for rough drafts. if you want rich pigment look you can try other prismacolor pencils.

ALl the colors are very light and its difficult for a child to paint on book

Not original. Every time you sharpen the pencil the lead breaks off

Love these pencils.

Better pigmented than both Faber-Castell and Staedtler erasable colour pencils. And they should be, given their price. Way better made than the "usual" Prismacolor premier colored pencils! They clearly undergo a much better QC! No cracks in the wood, no off-center cores, no breakages, easily sharpened to very fine point that holds well. Kneaded eraser works well on them, better than on Faber-Castell and way better than on the Staedtler erasable pencils.

These pencils are very nice for sketching. They have a nice level of pigmentation, however I do wish the black was slightly more intense. The colour does not fully erase, and it leaves a very slight residue on the paper. The erasers on the bottom of the pencils are nice. They are soft and erase well. The pencils sharpen well. I've yet to have any lead breakage when sharpening and using these pencils. Overall they are nice for adding colour to sketches, but I would avoid using them if you want to be able to completely erase your sketch. They are a reasonable price for the quality, and they feel like a step up from sketching with normal coloured pencils.

These are amazing for initial drawings and are erasable!!! Love the colors in the 12 pack!

When I bought the item, I imagined 12 in a box, because that's what 12 count insinuated. However, there was only one pencil. The package didn't come until 3 weeks after ordering. Very disappointed with it. The pencil itself didn't erase properly, even when I pressed very lightly.
