I've always had a digital voice recorder since I was much younger and they cost a small fortune. Of course back then there were no mobile phones so it made more sense. This tint recorder measures in at just 105mm by 34mm and a mere 11.5mm deep. The casing is matt black aluminium that's cold to the touch and with the two omnidirectional silver-grilled microphones on top it looks like something straight off the set of a sci-fi film. It has a built-in rechargeable battery and a USB-C cable and port on the side for charging. Fully charged it's claimed you can listed to your audio for 10 hours using the speaker or 50 hours with earphones or headphones, There; 's also 50 hours of recording possible on a full charge. While the integrated speaker is actually quite load and clear for its size though obvioulsy bass is missing and you need to listen with earphones to do the recording quality justice.Recording is simplicity itself. Slide the side-mounted switch up and recording begins, slide it down again and the audio file is saved to the provided memory card which is a generous 64Gb Micro SD card. Alternatively, you can use voice-activated recording and you can specify the quality from 32kps MP3 to 192kbps MP3 and 512k *.wav with or without denoise, up to 1536kbps *.wav. You can also set things like language, backlight timer and brightness, date and time or even add a password. There's an A/B repeat function so you can repeat a section of audio you want to focus on Microphone gain can be altered to suit sound levels and the screen displays a handy left and right channel level meter. Attaching the recorder to a computer lets you transfer audio files, to or from the memory card including adding music files so it can double as an MP3 player. Shame they didn't squeeze a radio in too but I'm being greedy now.The screen isn't the highest resolution but it's clear and bright enough for its intended use and viewing angles are good horizontally and OK vertically.Generally I use my recorder for reminders, recording meetings or training sessions or when measuring up for wood, carpet, curtains, in fact anything where I might want an in-store reminder.Compared to my old recorder, which has cost twice what this one costs in batteries alone I would imagine, this one is smaller, clearer, cheaper and just generally better. All I would like to see included is a pouch and a wrist strap. the latter primarily because the microphone picks up a lot of sound from handling it while recording and you can't always set it down on a desk or table. Considering the going price for a 64Gb memory card it's even better value than it seems. So far seems well worth the asking price. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Basic voice recorder and half decent mp3 music player *by S***R on 26 September 2024* Comes in a retail box with usb cable, usb a to c adaptor, basic earphones and instructions.This is a basic voice recorder and mp3 player, it does the basics well enough and has some nice featuresbut the mics are not that good to be honest but at the price point this is in they are good enough.The build quality is surprisingly good with a solid and quite heavy metal casing but thats about it really as the internals are just basic, you have a maximum recording quality of 1536kbps and although you have "left" and "right" mics the recording from my testing does not seem to be in stereo but a constant level left and right mono recording.The in built speaker is good enough to listen to your voice recordings but its not very good.Music play back with a good pair of headphones however is actually pretty good and this device can even drive my dt 990 pro (250ohm) headphones but i need to have the volume at max but using lower impedance headphones would be far louder but this does not support lossless files like flac so its mp3 only unfortunately.The price at the time of ordering for the 64GV model was £19.99 which is pretty good for what you get here and i have tested far worse recorders in this price point so if your on a budget and need a cheap recorder this is certainly worth considering but i would not want to pay much more. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for Note-Taking and Interviews! 🎤📂 *by D***N on 28 October 2024* This digital voice recorder is a fantastic tool!
