If you want theoretical knowledge of LA then Go for Friedberg or Hofmann, if applications based LA then David C lay or Anton .. if for a book with all theorems and proofs and good number of questions for practice them this book is best for you.

The book starts from the hiegher secondary level and will very helpful for crating an clear idea on the subject.Highly recommended and very help ful for exams like UPSC JRF NET ..... Printing and page quality is also good...was a nyc purchase

This book was meant to be a supplement for LA. It's for those students who like to go through a lot of solved examples. Don't buy if you want to practice questions from this book as it contains only a handful of problems. Also, I didn't expect the quality of book to be that low keeping in mind that it's published by Mcgraw Hill. They texts were hazy, making you believe for a split second that you need to visit an eye specialist.

If you need help whether for GRE subject or your college course or your Indian entrance exam(NET, GATE), it's a complete basic Linear Algebra guide for self study. I combined it with linear algebra by Freiberg and I feel comfortable in one of the most interesting mathematics field.
